It seems popular now among brands to look back at their past and launch collections inspired by it. I'm no expert on fashion history and I'm sure you can find more examples - and perhaps some images from the archives to illustrate them?

Chanel SS 13: LBDs, pearls, little black jackets...

Saint Laurent SS 13: le smoking, chiffon, pu-ssy (I can't believe TFS censors this, hahaha) bows, safari style and the new-old name itself

I am too lazy and sleepy to google pictures, but Prada has been referencing herself for at least 2 decades.

She's keeping her past work relevant by re-introducing it an updated way. Buy Prada once wear it forever because it will never go out of style.

Designers referencing their work

Self-references are part of a creative process. I though it was interesting to see how designers are sometimes reinterpreting their own work.
It can be one outfit from the past re-introduced differently, or the exact outfit putted on a different context. It can also be parts of a collection or a total reboot of a whole collection.

I think it will be interesting to see how it affect their designs, businesses or careers.

What's better start than starting with the Queen: Miuccia Prada.

FW 1988 (her first collection)/ the entire FW 2013 collection

Chanel fake furs from FW 1994/ Chanel FW 2010

Fake fur was a strong focus of the 94 collection. He wanted to make them as fun as possible whereas FW 2010 was all about fake fur and making them real, using different treatments, blending them with tweed.
Same concept, different execution
