ALEX JAMES: ’I'D BE SURPRISED IF AMY WINEHOUSE LIVES BEYOND 2010’
Alex James expressed his opinion to The Mirror that he would be "surprised" if Amy Winehouse and Pete Doherty were to live beyond 2010.
Alex said both musicians would need the help of people around them.
"I'd be surprised if Pete Doherty and Amy Winehouse both live to see the decade out. You know, it's not funny,"
"I've been in situations where my best friends have been killing themselves [with drugs] and they won't listen."
Carrying on, he went on to say: "At least there's an infrastructure for getting better now. If that had existed in Elvis's day then maybe he'd still be alive. It is scary."

Cavorting on the beach in yet another bikini top, Amy Winehouse looks healthier and happier than she has in years.
As the singer joked around with friend Blake Wood and pretended to scare a small child with a blanket, it seemed the Caribbean holiday was doing her the world of good.
Wearing a yellow bikini top and short denim shorts over purple ruffled underwear, she showed off her new curvier figure.

With her clear skin, glossy hair and obvious lust for life, the energetic 25-year-old is a different picture from her previously bedraggled figure suffering from the excesses of London life.
In recent days, Amy has been pictured joining in a game of football with her friends, practicing her handstands and frolicking in the sea.
The playful star appears to have taken on a new sporty persona during the break.

The 25-year-old singer has been enjoying a holiday away from it all with her friends and family on the island of St. Lucia.

She travelled first class to the exotic location with her 12-year-old god-daughter Dionne Bromfield, her mother and a group of other friends.
Along with her bad skin and emaciated figure, she has also ditched her trademark beehive for the vacation.

Before jetting off on the luxury holiday, the star had been receiving treatment at a London clinic after suffering ‘a bad reaction to her prescribed medication’.

It seems a few weeks in the sun for Amy Winehouse is working wonders for both.The 25-year-old singer of such hits as Rehab has gained some much-needed nourishment on her Caribbean break - and also a healthy looking new boyfriend.

The singer has started up an unlikely romance with a strapping young public-school educated actor.

The pair were pictured in a warm embrace on a Caribbean beach yesterday.
Joshua Bowman, 21, has spent the past year busking for work in New York after 'wanting to get out of London' following his private education at Wellington College in Berkshire, where boarding fees are £26,000 a year.

Mr Bowman, who counts rugby international Danny Cipriani among his friends, said yesterday that he met Miss Winehouse while holidaying on the island of St Lucia.
The couple soon struck up a close friendship and will remain there for another week.
Mr Bowman said: 'She's just a cool girl, very nice, and we're just very friendly. She's a good laugh - she is such a lovely girl and on great form.
'I can't say much more than that. I have been having a lovely time relaxing. It's not been all party-party. I don't drink much at all as it happens.
'It's true to say that I'm a budding young actor. But I'd rather get my name out there because of my acting rather than who I'm being photographed with. I wasn't waiting until there was a photographer on the beach to put my arm around Amy.

'I have been living in New York for the past year and have only just arrived back in the UK. I am just auditioning.
'I love the industry and I let's see what happened in the future. I haven't really done too much - just bits for TV but nothing major at all. Just bit parts at the moment. I am definitely not going to bring up as evidence of my acting credentials the sh***y stuff that I have done so far.'
He added: 'I'm not a typical public school boy. I have a very eclectic mix of friends and I don't like to be pigeonholed like that.'
Mr Bowman has spent the past year on the books of a New York acting agency, Gersch, studying method acting at the Lee Strasburg Institute and 'networking'.
His 23-year-old sister Scarlet Bowman is trying to get into TV presenting. Their parents have separated.
