i gotta say its her best album. i dont think Beyonce cares about commercial hits anymore. her vocal performance on ALL the songs, even "Run The World" (where she is so assured and almost misognistic in a female way!) is outstanding, i think "4" is the album that will define Beyonce musically. I didnt hear any big commercial hits but its like she does'nt care none of these songs are radio friendly but they are just almost like art in their calibre.

in my opinion 4 is very Beyoncé and very DIL. What i really disliked about I Am... Sasha Fierce, was that there weren't the typical midtempo Beyonce songs a la DIL.
But 4 seems(just like Eccentricity said) like the perfect beyoncé album!!!
it's pure rough r&b, and what i love the most, is that it isn't this electro sh*t like everyone esle is doing right now!!! you gotta love bee for staying true to herself!!!

The production on the album is fantastic, it's so well layered and it compliments her roaring warm voice to a tee.

I just love "4" so much! Not because of the fact that it`s a Beyoncé album but mostly of the fact that it`s so mature. It shows Beyoncé`s growth as an artist. Her songs are very straight forward and direct to the point without any fillers like Kitty Kat from B'Day. The album is pure emotion and no pretense. This is better than I Am... Sasha Fierce in my honest opinion.

I totally agree with you, Eccentricity! I think her goal with "4" is to speak of truth and how women and men feel not to make commercial hits and #1`s.

Even though it leaked, I will still buy the cd, deluxe, repackaged, double deluxe or whatever!

Wow -- I couldn't resist downloading 4 and I am blown away. What a GREAT album. Seriously, I think she's come so far. I'll buy it when it officially comes out, too!! Such beautiful ballads, throwbacks to the 90s. Countdown and End of Time are such beautiful, fun tracks, and I love Love on Top too! Totally agree with you MON!

I've seen worse lyrics. I think they wanted to focus more on the melody than on the lyrics, which I don't find shocking at all, because the melody of this song is really great. Of course, the lyrics could have been WAY better... But I still love the song!
