she has a great vulnerability and "human-ness" that i find really appealing the more i look at her pics.
and she rocks - she's got the respect of most of the musicians in the business. quite an achievement since the days of joni mitchell, who, despite being a genius, had more written about the men she was sleeping with than her work.
I went to the 2002 Olympic concert she had on her 40th birthday. It was great, and pre midlife pop crisis. I love love LOVE "Tuesday Night Music Club" and her self titled. As far as clothes go, bleehhhh, but I like her in that beige and turquois Raloh Lauren from above.
I love her music and I actually think she has pretty good taste in clothing. She's definitly aged gracefully with her style unlike many in the music business. She used to be ultra hip rock chick looking ready to party, now she's really matured into a woman without losing her cool factor.
I must say, she gets major props for looking tasteful in an industry that seems to get more and more trashy everyday (well, except for that yellow Cavalli number, she's got the body for it no doubt, I just don't like the dress)
Just a side note, both of the dresses she's wearing at the MET events are by Ralph Lauren.
