Well the colour on them is fairly even, its the texture that is more 'distressed'. Worn, sanded patches and a general scuffed look. Will dyeing change that? I've never dyed shoes before so I really don't know. They are only cheap though, its a bit of an experiment.

A moss-grown jacket. Scott!
Well done Seth, I like the pics too.

I just sewed more than 4 cms for the first time in my life. Each time I would chicken out. Now I finally caught hold of the sewing-machine and showed it who's the boss :p I took a trashy old shirt and made an etui (is that an English word? something you put your pencils etc in) out of it.

This is how I live yes, no props. Cleaning up is quite needless

I recently dyed a pair of McQueen boots because i didn't like the color, but couldn't live without them.

I like to sew my clothing, so I just make stuff whenever I can. When I do customize, I utilize the good ol' safety pin, so I can change up whenever I wear the garment again.

Inspired by Softgrey in the Frye Boots thread, I thew a red leather jacket into the wash to break it in. It worked! Now it's soft and a little crinkley. Perfect.

They were leather. It is a crapshoot dyeing shoes if you don't know what you're doing. But after numerous informational phonecalls to various companies, I decided to take the risk.

I'll post the before and after pick once I resize it.

I stenciled my fake converses .. wanted to practice on a cheapo pair first.
I stenciled a city sky line up the side of them.

tiamaria thats a sweet idea, but if you want some contructive criticism, it's kind of hard to tell its a cityscape unless you inform me its a cityscape. Maybe use a smaller pen and focus on straight lines. Awesome idea though

Fantastic ideas on this thread, Elegance I love your ribbon top! And the denim jacket with the flowers on, fab!

I've got a couple of plain white tshirts/halternecks I'm going to have a play with, has anyone used eyelets before? I want to make holes around the sleeves of the tshirt and thread ribbon through, make them a bit puffy, but I have no idea how to use an eyelet plier!
