I have spray painted a pair of ballet flats gold (this was years ago before they were a big trend and not that easy to find in my city so i had bought real ballet slippers and got them soled and then spray painted them) and i've never had any issues either.

I wore spray-painted shoes for a play, and I have continued to wear them since. No problems yet!

What would be best to use to dye a pair of grey skinny jeans black? Any ideas?

My "Awareness" Tshirt
I'm applying for a scholarship and this is the project I made..

It's about child-labour, I made a T-shirt that is all about making people aware about child-labour and not buying clothes made by children working in poor conditions.

I Made a print by myself, it's about two worlds (the one we live in, where we shop, the economy is good) and then there's the other world (where children are working to survive and feed their families). These worlds seem so far apart but their connected the moment we buy something made by children.

That's why I cut the T-shirt in half ,top representing poverty and lower representing , well us. Then I made them come together with a red ribbon that represents the action (when we buy) that combines these worlds.

I also printed out a text that says Awareness

I idea is that all money from this would go to charity.

here are pictures

^ That is impressive. Very good idea, and you brought it well to life. It's a beautiful thought.

^ love that! Everytime I see those covers retailing for $10 - $20 +, I just think, screw that, I will make my own from scrap fabrics!

I wish my sewing machine had never broke. I have a dress that would look really cute if it was just a bit shorter.

Could you not hand wash it?

I have no idea, I probably could but the edges where the string is will kind of rip after just a few washes I think

I haven't worn it yet so I'm not really sure:p

Thank you VintageAmour that's sweet

This is a dress I made for an IKEAproject in school.. we were supposed to make clothes out of their fabrics (which are not meant for clothing)

I've never ever sewn any kind of clothing before from scratch but here is the dress I made... I used curtains and bed sheets...

ignore the stockings, it's not meant to be worn with it.

I'd like to write a sentence on a plain white cotton t-shirt and I have already bought the colour for it, but now that I have tried painting the words on a test shirt it looks so stupid, I just don't know how to write (I mean like italics, everything in capital letters, romantic etc.). Can anyone recommend me how to do it?
