Can't seem to shift this dress on ebay, was thinking about turning it into a skirt as it's too big as a dress. Any ideas on how best to do this?

You could just use its fabric..
Have you used patterns before?

Or you can also make it fit you ...

I bought a 1940's double mink scarf/wrap off ebay, just sort of spur of the moment (I've been doing that a lot lately) and it arrived and it was in two pieces . . the stitching had come apart at the mink face area and it was just kind of . . broken.
Some parts were like, matted also. But generally, there was nothing wrong with the fur.

Here they are:

Creepy glass eyes, dangling feet and everything!

So I set myself to work repairing and modernizing it.
I sewed the feet up onto the back of the scarf as so it didn't look so macabre, I sewed down the tails of the higher up minks as so they didn't flap around, I edited one of the tails so the string wasn't visible again and I removed the stuffed heads (not a nice job - I don't recommend) and sewed the fur together again to make one piece.

Ta-da!

P.S. Wow! I really know how to darken a nice corner of the forum!

muxu, wow - really really great job..

Bought this long velour second-hand dress a short while ago..
But decided that I needed a one shoulder dress, so made this one into one.. (it looks really short, but as I'm 5'2 it's about 3 inches above my knee) :p
