i supose you could quil them but since i didnt have the equiptment i just rolled the paper making sure there was a hole through the middle to string the elastic.

you can make them different widths and colours which i like since its versitile. plus if you cut the paper so that it tappers of to one end (gets thinner) and start rolling from the thick end it will create a different shape rather than the 'bead' being a tube.

Well....as I stated in a previous post...I would start some jewelry making. This is my first time doing such a thing. I'm proud of my pieces.

Let me know what you all think.

thank-you so much for the comments, fab...any constructive criticism?
here are two more pieces that I added, I like these quite a lot, although the second one is not something I would wear myself, the first one is (I have and got lots of compliments on it)

1) http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/18006000/

2) http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/18006219/

and

http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/18006107/

Im still a little sheepish about showing these, the second one is not finished yet. the edges on the ends need to be cleaned up, and a new fastening clasp is needed in the back. I will adjust the length on all of the ends, and have been thinking about adding some small black feathers for that extra little bit of cartoon-villain oomph that I was somehow going for

side note: the second is made out of flooring scraps!

well after looking at them all again (i loooove the second one by the way, I would wear something like that) I can say I don't have any constructive critisism, maybe some of the people on here with a better knowledge may have a couple of hints and tips but they look fantastic to me

Arksiel, I cannot believe that you're just a beginner! Your work is fantastic. I love the necklace made out of flooring. Great creativity.
ps. Yay Vancouver!

aww, you guys completely made my day!

Ive lately begun scouring vallue village obsessively for bags of stuff in their craft area or for old necklaces with one bead here or there that I can re-use in something else...my boyfriend things its quite funny! If I actually had a job, I'd be spending a lot more money, and admittedly this new obsession has taken a bit of time from the resume dropping I've been doing but its just -so much FUN- !

but, do any of you have thoughts about putting feathers on the flooring necklace? my bf thinks that would be 'too much' but Im not really sure that it isnt already...and I wanted it to be sort of an over the top story piece? dunno.
