loving the new pieces design*life so talented hope the website is going well
i made some really quick earings last night safety pins with strings of green beads hanging down from them. i like them because they are quirky! plus i didnt have any fish hooks left so i imprevised!(post pics later when im home!)

i love safety pins i use them for most things such as clasps for jewelry and holding things together i pretty much use them for everything

I make my own necklaces/bracelets... stuff with ribbon and pendants or beads. I used to make jewelry a lot as a kid... I should really do more.

now that Ive been bitten by the jewellery making bug, I am starting to think about using different materials. I really want to get into working with lucite, resin, bakelite or other plastics.

so far, my google searches have come up with how to imbed objects in table tops, and, oddly enough, a LOT of online sex-toy shops.

anyone know of any good resources that I can learn from? I hope!
I have all of these design ideas and I really want to bring them to fruition!

thanks in advance

-Cyn

Arksiel, try doing a search at crafster! There are tons of topics about resin, but it's EXTREMELY toxic and difficult to work with. Or so I've heard

I really love seeing pictures from all the crafty TFS people, more pictures please!! Thank you to everyone who commented on my jewellery

I took a jewelry class in school. We made our own glass beads by melting glass rods. We also used a clay that turns into silver when cooked... PMC, something like that...

more stuff from me!
ok, so I added a few more pieces, here is the run down!

1) layered seed bead star necklace - love the colours of this, but am not sure if I completely like it. only time will tell I suppose. took me forever to do, however.

2) Candy Red beaded necklace - really simple, but I love it. I wore it the other night with a v-neck black tank, and a black skirt with white polka dots, it looked great!

http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/18395642/

3) shell pendants - Im going through this shell phase, I love them. also have tons of them. my favourite one is the spiral wrapped all around with gold wire. they now need to find homes on necklaces! Im thinking of doing a charm/layered piece with several of them on one necklace...

http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/18395368/

4) faux pearl and seed beed dual strand bracelet - I love this, because its so understated...even my grandmother loved it! and the pastel green gives it a subtle difference from all of the other pearls I own. the green is a little bit brighter than in the picture, but not by much.

thanks for looking! and I finally decided to allow comments, because I'm not scared about you all hating them anymore.

Im looking forward to seeing more creations from others! and the crafster link proved to be very helpfull, once I have more cashola I will be delving into the world of resin made pendants! can't wait!

I like those shell pendants.

I'm going through an earthtone/naturalistic phase at the moment, and so they reall appeal to my aesthetic sense.

thanks guys.
soft - Im having a hard time coming up with designs for larger jewellery that arent just over the top...Ive made a few that I didn't like, and therefore took apart to use the beads in something else! that was the first piece I liked enough to keep.

AYLI: Ive been rather obsessed with shells, pearls, and wooden beads of late, although I keep running into cheap looking wood beads that I wouldnt use. have you done anything lately? I love seeing your work.....

Im also currently working on some 'cuff' type bracelets with various pieces of fabric trim.

Oh my god you guys - there is so much talent here

I have been designing and making jewellery for a while...I am really addicted too! I am really getting into all the chunky stuff right now - also love colour and unusual shapes.
