Some of the articles are interesting. There's a piece on Plum Sykes' apartment that is neat, US Vogue worships at her altar and there is also an exerpt from her latest book which is fun if you enjoy her elegant take on chick lit.

Marina Rust does an interesting piece on eyelash extensions but I feel as though this is territory that has already been explored in other magazines.

I enjoyed the article on Chile's president, I didn't know much about her prior to the article so that was good.

The Anglomania feature and corresponding editorial are what saves this issue. The edit is fairly stock Testino, I think he's shot very similar edits for US Vogue in recent years but the clothes are incredibly interesting and they use the best British models. There's: Jacquetta (alot of Jacquetta in this issue actually which I love since I just got to see her in person this week ), Stella, Lily Cole, Lily Donaldson and Karen Elson who is glowing and pregnant. They also do a short profile on Sienna and the lovelies planning the afterparty for the Met gala (Lily D, Gemma, Lily Cole, Camila Al Fayed, Lauren Davis) and another bit on Camila Al Fayed fighting the "party girl image".

There are short pieces on Little Britian, Jamie Oliver and Lady Gabriella Windsor all decent but I feel like they could have told us something we didn't know about these things.

There is also a bit on short haircuts, they deem Jacquetta's the "season's coolest haircut" which I actually kind of agree with.

The Luella Bartley article is actually quite good though if I had a penny for every time I saw the word "cool" in association with her name I'd be rich.

ALT is fabulous as always.

The Keira piece manages not to grate even though everyone profiled gushes about her. I think Hamish Bowles did a good job on that. The photos are lovely albeit too familiar in style to what we've been seeing lately. Either way she's an incredibly beautiful and photogenic girl.

I think thats all of what I've read so far. I'll try and scan some things as well. The issue wasn't horrendous persay it was just stale and it felt as though I'd seen almost all of the articles/editorials before. It was a very safe and stale issue. Far too safe for a fashion magazine which I think should push boundaries.

I also felt like the quality of advertisements had gone way down. I don't want to see the words Walmart when I'm reading Vogue. Maybe that means I'm a big snob but I just don't want to ever think about Walmart whilst getting lost in the fantasy of fashion.

Thank you Luxx. I'm still waiting for my subscription copy -- but from what you've written, I'm most anticipating the article on Chile's new president, which isn't exactly fashion-related...and perhaps "The Seasons Coolest Cut".

I think I need some dark chocolate to cheer me up right now. <sigh>

My mistake. I looked at the issue and here is the corrected model lineup:

In the Christopher Bailey ed, the unknown model is Jacquetta Wheeler.

And in the other ed, it is Raquel Zimmerman and Caroline Trentini.

Sorry for the mixup.
