I will back comb at my roots if needed however prefer not too everyday. Lastly, do volumizing shampoos/conditioners really work or just weigh down hair?

Looking forward to hearing back from all of my lovely root-inspiring friends

Sorry, thanks for the edit and merge

Also, in my search for root lift and/or volumizer..this weekend I tried a combination of Bumble and Bumble Thickening Spray (Spray pre-blowout throughout back) and then the roots I used a root lift by F.Fekkai...Blow Out with paddle brush, Tourmaline T3 dryer with nozzle concentrated on my roots. I am liking the outcome thus far..two days and holding 3rd day fix is a 'messy' ponytail w/ skinny headband.....

I still have not found anything for my long hair.

The only things that lift my hair:

one week of no washing
keeping it up for a while and then letting it down

I still have not found a product that I can use...
