Trim every 6-8 weeks.

I'm not very religious when it comes to taking care of my split ends though.

There's got to be an easier way! Is there?

there isn't i had a ton and i was constantly irritated so one day, i chopped them all off. i was having my hair trimmed once a month, but it is layered so they were never able to make a real dent in them. i think i took about three to four inches off, and i did it over a couple of days, but it was totally worth it. they aren't all gone, but i barely have any left. i think i found about ten after (total).

Eek, my hair would be really short if I cut 3-4'' off... guess I'll wait for it to grow

The most annoying thing is though, I've tried tons of deep-conditioning treatments that promise to help remedy split ends and none of them work at all.

As well as getting your hair trimmed regularly I would recommend Redken Extreme Anti-Snap, it helps to prevent split ends.

that sucks! you should cut them now though, because they split all the way up to the root. you don't want to wait until your hair grows and the split ends are even worse trust me, i know how you feel but think how nice your hair will be after!

last year my hair got really long and dead and i hadnt cut it in so long that when i finally did (4 or so inches) it ended up looking like probably 6 inches because my hair was no longer weighed down, it just sprung up!

I have the same problem but I refuse to cut my hair. It takes so long to grow...
I have been trying all kinds of hair serums from all brands but from what I have experienced, hair serums improve the way the hair looks...but looking closely, the dry ends aren't sealed.
I will have to cut the ends a few inches, eventually. I just need tips for faster hair growth...

I braid my hair every day, I almost never let it just...hang. That way my hair doesn't get tangled up, and I don't have to brush it (I never do that). Oh, and I'm religious about deep conditioning. Don't use conditioner, use a hair masque every time you wash your hair instead. My hair stylist said my hair was some of the best she had seen, and I've had two perms in three months Wanted curls, didn't woprk, permed it straight again But my hair recovered nicely, even though it's very long.

Has anyone here tried the Bumble and Bumble Dehyration therapy line? My stylist recommended to me to treat my split ends.

The most important thing you can put in your hair is protein. Moisture wont strengthen your hair, and it's actually kind of unimportant. (Not entirely, because elasticity prevents snapping. But most of a hair strand is made up of protein.)

Some cheap brands (VO5 and Suave) have light conditioners with protein in it. I actually like to use this between shampooing and deep conditioning on a daily basis. Otherwise you also need a deeper treatment now and then. Nexxus is probably the most commonly used, but I'm looking into Aphogee because it's a cream instead of a gel. As far as I know, it works better too.

If you blow-dry on a daily basis, do a treatment atleast weekly.
If your hair is processed, do it a few times a week.
If you do virtually nothing, then doing it monthly couldn't hurt.

bradding your hair usually can cause split ends.
