Great thread, gius! I love looking childrens' styles from the past... they're a major source of inspiration for me.

Pockets 1875-1900

In the 19th century most of women's dresses in fashion had pockets sewn into the seams like how it is in present times, but young children, old and working class women still wore theirs separately. They were worn tied to the waist under the garments and accessed through slits in the petticoat or outergarment.
