^ What a treat! Double karma, Diorette! This photograph is by Fred Brommet. "Christian Dior et son équippe 1949".

Of German origin, Willy Maywald arrived in Paris in 1931 and very quickly entered the artistic world of Montparnasse. There, he meet Christian Dior at Robert Piguet, then Elsa Schiaparelli. Pictured below is, "the Peruvian One", photographed at the Palais Royal, 1949.

Diorette, Thank you very much for taking the time to scan the article
Please keep in mind this thread's for 1905-1957 Christian Dior
So the images of work should be kept under this time period

I've moved the other images to their proper separate threads:
1957 - 1961 Christian Dior by Yves Saint Laurent
1961 -1989 Christian Dior by Marc Bohan
1989 - 1997 Christian Dior by Gianfranco Ferre
John Galliano (after 97)

Christian Dior (1905 – 1957) was one of the most influential fashion designers of the 20th century. In 1947, his first collection, the New Look, transformed the shape of fashion, launching a nostalgic, ultra-feminine silhouette. Dior was instrumental in repositioning Paris as the world’s fashion capital after World War II.

This glamorous dress comes from Dior’s famous H line collection of autumn/winter 1954, which emphasized a long, slim, ballerina bodice. Appropriately, it was worn by the dancer and choreographer, Ruth Page, who donated over 250 items of clothing to the Chicago History Museum, including thirteen couture dresses by Dior.
