It is a brief empire-waisted dress with a side slit skirt and matching printed shorts, shown here with this pants costume, already a part of the hostess wardrobe. Airline Hostesses with New Flight Fashions
Original caption: 11/18/1965-Dallas, TX- Brilliant color, space-age styling and practicality are summed up in these new airline hostesses' uniforms created by Italy's Emilio Pucci. The unique costumes, worn by Braniff International Airlines' hostesses, put a flair into air travel with an array of color. At top is the cerise suit outfit with a zippered jacket, astronaut collar and slender wrap-around skirt. For cool weather, there's a front-zippered overcoat that reverses from chartreuse to orange.Completing the outfits are neat boots and hats, reminiscent of the pillbox, with scarves that snap under the chin... These are designed in a Pucci pattern in various color combinations.

The caption here is priceless - obviously someone was somewhat bitter about the new trend.

Woman Modeling a Pucci Suit
Original caption: After consigning the female form to mothballs, Italian designer Emilio Pucci appropriately decorates this grey wool suit with little white wool balls. The straight, shapeless jacket, worn over an equally shapeless skirt, is finished with straight, shapeless sleeves and a "strangulation" collar. This (heaven forbid!) is what Pucci expects women all over the world to be wearing next winter.

Model Posing in Turquoise Dress
Original caption: Florence, Italy: Baring the kneecaps in a shift of textured, turquoise jersey, Emilio Pucci advocates simplicity of line for Spring and Summer, 1962. The sleeveless, collarless dress is triangularly seamed for the "3-V Line" that characterizes the Italian designer's new collection, which will be shown in Florence on January 15.

Flight Hostess in New Flight Clothing
Original caption: 11/18/1965-Dallas, TX- The sky is the limit for this design which is the new look and idea for a flair in the air. It's part of the new uniform worn by Braniff International Airline hostesses. When in the air, the hostess flips off her slender warp-around skirt and reveals these billowy cullotes of bright blue, designed by Emilio Pucci of Italy. Boots in a variety of brilliant color combinations are worn with her suit; while in the sky she wears equally bright colored flat-heeled shoes.
