Everything Rabanne just makes me soooooo happy, DosViolines! I can't wait for more museum collections to appear online. Here is another one, sadly without a description.

i was wanting to make a chain mail/paco rabanne like dress, maybe i'll check the notions shops in the fashion district to see if i can get four hole disks.
I just read that Rabanne was one of the two costumers on Barbarella c. 1968. Now I have to watch it again and see which designs are his!

Paco Rabanne Haute Couture, 1979, multi color gown in homage to Vionnet
In an homage to Madame Vionnet this Paco Rabanne dress breaks from the traditional pieces of Haute Couture that we expect from Paco. There are no discs and no outlandish metal work, the hallmarks of Paco style. For that reason this dress is an extremely rare and unusual dress that is a runway sample.

Chain mail evening gown, probably 1970s, un-marked, the mainly silvered metal discs punctuated at intervals with circular pendant discs, the tapering hem with shaped split to the front, multi-size.
