Linda Morand and Alana Collins in top of the Arc de Triomph Paris 1967
They were among a group of young New York models to be brought to Paris for the Spring 1967 Collections by Cardin.
There are two great Cardin's at the Cold War Modern show at the V & A right now. Anyone in London should definitely check it out- a very interesting show with some great clothes at the end.
Seventh picture post #75 - Christopher Kane S/S 09 ?
I've been meaning to look up Cardin for forever.
And I'm so glad I did.
I love the clothes posted here - they're truly wonderful.
Does he still show in Paris? I can totally see Cardin being easily modernized for today's fashions.
I love the whole totally going against the shape of the body idea - I totally had that idea before reading it - he's talking architecture and artwork not t-shirts and jeans. I love it.
I always thought of Cardin as a sort of partially more expensive than high-street brand, but if you ever hear older people walk past a rack emblazoned with his name they always say "Oh look! Pierre Cardin!" as if it were Dior, even though these days the name is much less exclusive.
I'd been meaning to look at Cardin since the ladies on Signe Chanel were exclaiming their love for Cardin and sighing at the memory of making couture for him.
I can see why. I love it.
