i agree about the silvery stuff, tricotine, it definitely has a star trek vibe about it...
but i'm very fond of the more classic pieces like the one i posted from tangerineboutique, they have something flawless, the navy dress i have is similar, it looks very simple and is absolutely eye-catching on a person though....
We have a good chunk of Courreges in the costume collection I work at (who would have thought midwestern socialites were so chic!). A lot of it could easily be worn today without any changes. I have an old Vogue from the early 80's and there's a shot of a patent leather Courreges outfit that was really amazing. As far as his influences on contemporary fashion goes, Nicholas Ghesquire picks up a lot of ideas from him...

strange how the blue dress from #33 looks like a dress i designed and made last year XD and i never seen that blue dress in my life prior to now
