If those bags she is carrying are shopping bags, they are without a doubt the coolest I've ever seen. :p

Zandra Rhodes painted dress, c.1979
Painted with Chinese Water Circles (p.215 of The Art of Zandra Rhodes), the dress is signed "Zandra Rhodes" within the print (2nd picture from the bottom). The idea for the print came during the artist's first trip to mainland China (1979), where the stone carvings of water and clouds in the palaces made a deep impression on her.

The dress is fashioned from peachy beige silk chiffon and is lined with matching China silk. The gray and ivory painting is accentuated with faux pearls and glittering rhinestones. It slips over the head and has a small back neckline opening. The elasticized waist is covered with a wide satin sash. I love the pearl accents on the tied hemline.

Chanel floral charmeuse dress, 1970s
The elegantly simple dress from Chanel is a masterpiece of understated refinement. Fashioned from rich silk charmeuse printed with brilliant flowers, the style is timeless and ladylike.

The black satin hem border and wide black suede belt add a sophisticated touch to the soft, feminine design. The dress is beautifully constructed with self-bound edges on the neckline and sleeves. The seams are finished inside, while the back zipper is sewn in by hand.

Halston sequined dress, 1970s
Although totally covered with sequins, the dress is whisper weight. You will feel completely free and unencumbered when you wear it. The full circle skirt, perfect for dancing, hangs in soft folds. Fashioned from sheer black silk chiffon, the dress slips over the head with no closures.

André Laug lightweight faux snakeskin coat, 1970s
The beautifully textured rayon fabric drapes like silk. The vertical bodice seams open into inverted box pleats above the waist, creating a softly sculpted Empire line. The coat showcases the languid grace of Laug's elegantly understated designs.

Galanos sarong-style evening dress, c.1975
The gold chevrons against a black ground create a look that is classic with a hint of 1920s retro chic in this sexy evening dress. This is signature Galanos: sex appeal in an elegant couture-quality package.

Bill Blass chiffon evening dress, 1970s
Sculpted from multiple layers of silk chiffon that softly mold to your body. The one-shoulder asymmetrical Goddess style in hot cherry red will raise the temperature a few degrees in the room. Blass understood how to produce evening wear that was both glamorous and tasteful. His elegantly simple style has been called "polished classic."

Swakara lamb coat with celebrity provenance, 1970s
Fashioned from luxurious, black curly Swakara lamb. The fur is lightweight, supple, and elegant; these pelts are rare today. This incredibly chic coat belonged to Broadway stage actress Peggy Cass, for whom it was custom made. Written provenance with pictures of Cass will be included: a documented celebrity connection to the world of theater!

Velvet evening cape, 1970s
Fashioned from black rayon velvet and lined with black taffeta. A wide collar of clipped black feathers beautifully frames the face. If you have a flair for the dramatic, this plush cape is "must have" for your wardrobe. What could be more luxurious than an evening cape that gently drapes over your body, hinting at womanly curves underneath?

Beaded chiffon party dress, 1970s
Fashioned in two parts from heavenly pale, peach silk chiffon, this ladylike and sexy beauty exudes the self-confidence of a woman with social status who knows where she is going, yet enjoys her femininity. The chiffon skirt is attached to a matching satin slip; the beaded over blouse is lavishly embellished with faux pearls, silver beads, rhinestones, and iridescent sequins.
