The S/S 2000 was what introduced me to Willhelm--an article in Purple. They photographed his clothes so perfectly--in a way that highlighted a sense of balance and sophistication, but childishness as well. I wish I could see more photographs of it.
Willhelm's clothes often glide easily into the territory of being Ugly, but I think that's because he's not too attached to clothes being a certain way, or pretty, like he says in his interview w/Diane Pernet
That is not to say that I agree with all of the choices he makes, but it's interesting to see someone who has such a different perspective on fashion. Personally, I prefer things that manage to balance pretty/ugly, refined/trashy, ladylike/gross etc.
