Welcome....I THINK I saw one of the Halston dresses the other day while I was thrifting. It wasnt very nice, and it had the H letters all over. But it said Halston lll, so I was just boggled and left it there. I'm wondering if this is what it was from?!

Flight attendants are seriously well dressed. Has anyone flown Korean Air before? Those flight attendants are dressed to impress. I guess they overcharge you an extra 100 bucks for the "scenery".

And I always wonder how perfect flight attendant faces are even after flying for so many hours. They don't look oily, tired, or anything. Haha.

Thanks for the thread.

I can't find any old pictures, but Singapore Airlines' iconic "Singapore Girl" uniforms are really gorgeous and have been the same for the past 30 years. They were designed by Pierre Balmain.

Nice^ So unlike the Balmain of now.
Seems like a traditional costume, with the textile pattern

If anyone has pictures of male flight attendants that would be great too :p I know they are out there. Usually I meet them on short flights in the smaller aeroplanes...

also: I'm with you on that, Leeroi lol. Always perfect !
Much more pressure for the men. They don't have the advantage of concealer.

Love it, back then flying was glamorous, people dressed up because it was an event to fly. I saw Boeing Boeing on broadway and have been obsessed with the idea of jet age/midcentury modern style. Flying now is so dreadful, especially if you're sitting next to someone in their pajamas and flip flops. Pity the TWA terminal at JFK is not still up and running

Dolls ... and real flight attendants.

Quote:
* On Air France request, C. Balenciaga created the uniform for AF flight attendants to be both feminine and usefull. It's early june 1969 that 1300 AF flight attendants started to wear this summer outfit.

Cet uniforme de 1993 à été créé par le grand couturier, exclusivement dédié aux hôtesses du supersonique.
For the Concorde, Jean Patou started to design the uniforms (from 1976 to 1986). From 1986 to 2003, Nina Ricci Couture designs the uniforms. This one (ill.) is from 1993.
