I'm looking to buy a pair of white, high-top Converse-style shoes.
I need them for a costume, and buying real Chucks is simply out of the budget. (props are costing me enough as it is.)
So, the cheaper the better. I'm going to paint and decorate the shoes, so if karma for you if you can find them under $10.

I've been Goggling all sorts of options, and haven't found anything.


(someday, I'll save up enough to invest in a pair of custom designed, but this time, props and a wig are more important.)

Have you tried places like Wal-Mart or Target? I know that they have the Van style slip-ons there for like $8 or something.

usually you can buy real converse on sale at urban outfitters for 10-20$.

there's also a knock-off brand called "no sweat".

I got two pairs of chucks original black and all white for $20 bucks a pair at a sporting good store.

Chucks are only $40 dollars but you could probably get the real ones for less. Plus, the knock-offs cant compare to the real thing!

Yes, and normally I wouldn't buy knock-offs, but, like I said, it's for a costume, they're going to be painted to death anyway, and I'm on a very tight budget for this.

Tried Wal*Mart first, but they didn't have anything good. I'll try Target and eBay.
