The after-party dress looks so much better, the other one is fun but it doesn't work for me.

Does this woman ever wear anything that isn't head-to-toe designer labels? That's easy. Money doesn't mean you have great taste.

Though I do like what she's wearing here.

i'm curious to see how it looks without that little capelet thing, but i'm not too crazy about it based on what I see right now.

They both look pretty ridiculous at that event, in my opinion Carine because of the awful shoes and the nipples showing and Giovanna because of that hideous dress and that super weird capelet. I liked Gio's style better better when it was more elegant and a tad less quirky. Lately she seems to be turning into a second ADR and she looks like a caricature most of the time. Do not like.

^^agreed... she's almost too self-aware now?
there's been a sort of shift away from the style that made me like her in the first place.

it's still there, i just feel like she's trying too hard now

^Exactly, it absolutely looks like she's trying too hard most of the times. I assume if there's anyone who can afford to experiment with their style a lot it's fashion editors and stylists, so fair enough. But I still don't see why one would want to look so costumed when their personality completely shines through in more simple outfits (like the one at Lehmann Maupin Gallery and Sonnabend Gallery Host Private Dinner ) as well. She looks much better when she's not cluttered with gimmicky accessories and wearing all those silly pattern mixes and unflattering dresses.

I think her work as a stylist is terrific because that's when the whole dressing up and being over the top looks great and she's really good with colors but on her that whole flamboyant look doesn't work, IMO.

^ She's been more hit and miss for me this past year than previously.
