"I'm here to cheer on my mother," said JULIA RESTOIN-ROITFELD. She was just one of many (including models MARIA CARLA BOSCONO and NATALIA VODIANOVA) who ascended to the fifth floor of Barneys New York to toast the editor in chief of French Vogue, CARINE ROITFELD. The occasion? Carine—a legend in the fashion industry since her work with designer TOM FORD during his Gucci heyday—collaborated with Lutz & Patmos on a cashmere sweater with elbow patches and ready-made runs. A percentage of the proceeds from the sale of the limited-edition pullover will benefit Operation Smile. When the fashion world gives back, it gives back in style.
Family bonding never looked so good. On Friday, May 19th, Kim Hastreiter and David Hershkovits honored mother-daughter duo du jourCarine Roitfeld and Julia Restoin Roitfeld at a luncheon hosted at Indochine celebrating "Families of Fashion." In attendance were noted fashion families such as the Posens, the Clementes, the Missonis, the Ronson/Dexter-Joneses, the Ford/Balazses and the McNallys. PAPER mamasitasGloria Hastreiter and Terry Boardman (mother of Mr. Mickey) also stopped by to join in the fun.
