I know it's a serious problem and it's something inherent in the VBulletin system, I understand, so they can't change it.
Have you tried searching by the 4 digit season year .... that might narrow it down some to at least the season? I know that won't help much ...... but it's the best I have to offer. If they are lines you follow, once you find them, consider bookmarking them for future reference. And, in those cases, advanced Google, as other members have mentioned, works fairly well ... include "the fashion spot" in you searches and that sometimes brings the thread right to the top. I'd be interested in knowing how you searched Miu Miu before & came up with anything. You can't advance search 2 words in a title & you have to search more than 3 letters. I would suggest trying to google what you're looking for... I do that all the time & it usually works perfectly.

and could be good to know that the search function itself is hidden by the flash-ads sometimes. It depends on how that particular ad is made but they may end up further up in the drawing hierarchy (probably to avoid ever being covered) and that effectively makes searching impossible.
This problem persists until you get a new ad that doesnt try to end up on the top of the drawing chain Not a big issue but good to know. For a specific example, Marshalls ads does this right now. |

I spoke with the management the other day about this issue ... ads covering some of your tools. I was told that the ad is probably what they call a roll over ad ... which means if you roll your curser over it (even without clicking), it expands and that is intentional. However .... there should be a way to close that window. Look for a "close" button at the bottom or an X in the upper right hand corner.
If that doesn't work .. and if you can get a screen capture of it ... please post it in the Need More Support? thread and I can report it. The Marshalls ad has already been captured and reported. Last edited by BetteT : 31-08-2008 at 10:30 PM. |

I wanted to search "New York" but I wanted to get rid of all results from "Designers & Collections" and only see results from other subforums.
Is there a way to do that? TY.

You can not exclude just one forum from your search if you are searching all of them. So, the best way is to search forum by forum .... starting with the most likely (In "advanced search" ... select the forum you want to search ... the box on the right side).

Did the search option change from about 2 years ago? I don't recall it ever being this confusing to use. I'm having trouble finding the search box, and when I do it's always saying "no results" to many of my queries. I end up using google search to find threads @ TFS since the search box won't find them.
Are we not able to use 3 letter searches either? i notice i never get any results when typing "LA" or "NYC" Why does it not let you select "search by topic title, or search all posts" like it used to??? |

Per the announcement in the tFS Is Not Working For Me thread ... the Search function has been turned back on ... now that we have our new server.
