Yea, it's definitely getting to be a hassle to navigate and have subscriptions, etc.
What about leaving an active thread for a model, but then instead of creating a new thread, move posts into a single archive thread? So Caroline Trentini would have 2 threads: an active one which is always kept to a reasonable size, and an archive. When the active hit a certain size, the 500 earliest posts would be moved to the archive.
It would allow everyone to keep their subscriptions and simplify the archives. Maybe have the archives only open to members?
the subscription to the thread would transfer to the old thread that the old posts are getting merged into, not the new thread (unless your post is one of the few that stays)...
and moving older posts into a "super" sort of thread would still put strain on the servers whenever that old BIG thread is accessed
like bette has already said...
we understand that this whole process and situation is frustrating...
we don't like it either to be honest...
it would be great if we didn't have to put all the time and effort into closing threads/copying posts/linking threads/posting messages and thread rules...
it seems like it would be easy but it's more time consuming and involves more steps than you might think...
especially when there are so many threads that we need to take care of at this point in time...
these are the growing pains we have to deal with since tFS has gotten so big...
I also noticed that you cannot make link a post for closed thread. I was going to post link my old post closed thread but it always go just forum main page. I wonder if any those link inside closed thread work either.
We will take suggestions like this, for how we are going to handle this in the future, so keep on listing them here. We'll review all of these ideas after we get caught up and are ready to discuss setting a policy and/or system for the future.
Is it possible to some mod to post the threads that has been closed recently? I remember I was worried because I didn't get replies notice from various model threads and never occured to me that they could have been replaced again
My only problem with closing of threads, is the links to the previous threads, not being posted in #1!
I TOTALLY concur with this comment!!!!!! I read the posts and it seems like the mods are dealing with a major backlog, but when things settle down I would appreciate if you would return to linking to the old thread when you open a new thread.
I totally understand how to do a search (both tFS and Google) and of course it won't kill me, but I find that when I do the search with search results being either very broad (and in no particular order) or very narrow and I have to figure out what I did wrong.
Also, since it seems like new threads are going to be created more frequently, can you edit the title of the thread being closed to add the date range, I have seen this done, but not consistently.
I have a question. There are some threads that were closed and I don't seem to find the new ones. Should I open a new one or just ask the mods to do so?

The threads are being closed but it is not at all consistent.
Some threads just closed, no link or even a new thread started.
Because on some there is no new posts, members don't even know about it.
Then on some threads, a new link is posted (big thanks) but I notice in the new thread that the mod has carried over 2 to 3 pages from the last thread. I really don't see the point of that.
