Karma points and the number of karma points we can then pass along, actually comes from other members ... not from number of posts.

We get points when someone gives us karma ... how many depends on how many they have. What we pass along, when we give karma depends on how much we have.

So, your older karma goes away as you get new karma? Because I've noticed that the karma I received before May are all gone.

The log only holds the last 25 posts.

my karma has always shown up below my subscribed threads in the control panel, but i can't find them now. have they been moved?

There's a button in the karma title bar where you can hide/display your karma comments.

Thanks! I appreciate both of you going to all the trouble of explaining it to me.

What I ended up having to do was checking the "show karma points" in my options. I was confused because the description of that option was that my karma points would show to others, but I guess what it actually means is that it would show to me.

How do you check your karma? I stumbled upon it a couple of weeks ago but I can't seem to find it now.

↑ Go to your usercp. It should display your karma points.

I would like to give karma but it says I must spread reputation first, what does this mean?

that means that you are currently trying to karma someone that you gave karma to already a short time ago.

Yeah ... she's right. That means you need to spread karma around to some other members, before you karma that person again. I guess it's so that members don't just get in small cliques and only karma each other ... they need to spread their good wishes to other people, too.

Wasn't sure if to post this here or in the TFS is Not Working thread, but is karma working at the moment? It used to come up with a message saying "thanks, may you be lucky to receive some in return" but lately nothing (coincidentally, I gave BetteT karma in another thread if that helps answer my question)

That window that came up was a recent add .... so it's something that hasn't always been there. With the changes, maybe the new system doesn't provide that pop up any more ... but karma is working.
