Is there some official protocol on crediting TFS scans or online images they've found when reposted outside of TFS forums?

I and some other bloggers have noticed their personal scans reposted elsewhere flickr, tumblr, etc without proper credits.

Anyone who collects magazines or takes the time to scan images knows that this can be very time consuming or even a pain in the rear process esp when there's a lot of editing involved with not so quality scanners.

So please acknowledge the time, effort and care it takes to scan/edit/upload/share personal scans or images found online by properly crediting the TFS user. So whether or not there's 'official' TFS rules, I think this is a common courtesy everyone would appreciate and hopefully reciprocate.

It certainly is a nice courtesy to credit the tFS member who did the work if someone posts the images on another forum and we encourage everyone to do so.

Regarding our policies:

We do have a requirement that if you copy images from another post in tFS and post them again on tFS in another thread, you must copy the original credits exactly as they are in the original post and name the original poster.

However, it's important to note that tFS does not own any of the images that are posted here by our members. The members are instructed to obtain permission from the legal copyright owner before they post any images. The scanner of a magazine does not own the images either.

Therefore, because tFS has no legal rights to these images, we cannot insist on anyone crediting us or our members when they post images the they found on tFS on another forum or blog.
