I always read my posts outloud to myself, along with the proofreading I mentioned above. Just a habit I've gained from working on a newspaper and having to edit various articles.

There used to be an icon allowing you to edit your own post after it was posted.
This icon seems to have disappeared.
Can someone please advise how I can edit something I already posted?

It´s because the time for editing of your post is limited. I think it´s 10 minutes.

^ yes , you can edit during a period of 10 minutes after posting.

Ask to the mods and they'll do it for you

You have 10 minutes to delete a post. And the mods do not usually delete posts upon request (even your own) .... only if it is in violation of a policy or if the links are dead. Use the report post function to report any problems with a post.

I repeat .... we only delete posts that are in violation of rules or have dead links that renders them useless .... just so you know.

you only have ten minutes to edit your post.

if ten minute has passed, then you need to follow up with another post that lists the source as soon as possible.

I posted 2 hours ago and made a mistake, wrote you instead of your, i wanted to edit but for some reason the edit function doesn't appear on the post?
