Don't forget that you have another option, which is a bit easier on the eyes: At the bottom of each page, just above the ad and below the copyright info, is a little drop down menu where you can change it to "tFS Retro". This will add dark bars between the posts and a light grey background. I like Retro better ... as many other members here have stated.

and definitely not going to do that firefox add on thing...

what about visitors who aren't members and just stalk...?
which - frankly, accounts for the majority of viewers these day...
if it's not easy to read they will just go read/stalk some other site...

i was in one thread the other day and there were 4 members and 33 visitors...
...
it was really shocking so i remember it...

anyway---i shouldn't even care about that, it's not my problem if everyone leaves, but i can't help mentioning it since it was such a crazy number...

I've switched to Retro, but one thing I noticed is it doesn't seem to associate that preference with my profile (i.e., I had to switch again when I came back today). It would be nice if this preference could be remembered ...

Good point .... visitors (who number here as much or more than our members) can't make any changes, I don't think.

So ... perhaps the tech support people can consider easing the eye strain a bit on the "Default" setting? Seems like it's enough of a problem to address for everyone.

Any particular reason we lost all of our "friends" and have to send requests again?

You know how we can´t quote pictures and everytime you quoted a post with pics you had to remove them? or mods had to remind us of the rule?
Well, I noticed that now when you quote a post with images they don´t show up anymore. Kudos for this upgrade!

I have to say I really like the new layout and think everything looks much more chic and it's definitely a vast improvement from the messy design we had before. But I also prefer the retro color scheme, by far. The white is definitely just too bright (and I have the brightness of my screen set to the minimum already, to save energy :p). I love the new profile design, it looks awesome. makes stalking everyone's profile even more fun And I'm looking forward to using the new features!

My only complaints are how the quotes are shown in posts and the smilies being turned off in visitor messages, as other people have mentioned before. Everything else is great. Thanks to everyone who worked on this!

A technical issue .... that they were just unable to keep "friends" in the new system. They knew this in advance and put it in the Announcement that we posted for them.

So ... yeah ... you have to send friend requests again, if you want to keep them.

You need to set that in UserCP for it to be remembered.

^ Thank you! I've done that. It's under Miscellaneous Options.

No typography expert here but I would agree with Vogue28 regarding the fonts, I always found that bold purple obnoxious so to see it all over the forums is just.. please no .. and I prefer Verdana as well, either that or a more elongated version of Helvetica (whatever that version is? neue? CY? I suck at this, but this is too spaced out and chubby ). Would replace purple with black and some black with grey. And go with ultra light grey instead of white because it really does hurt the eyes. *santa wishlist/tripping here*

Also agree with Bette on moderator titles.. I would prefer to get rid of the bold username, and just use a small title for ID.

Other than that, I guess I like this. I was bummed about profile comments, still am, but in a way it's as healthy as when you throw away letters from years ago..

Aside from that font aspect, I love how this finally feels more 2007 and less 2002.

... irreconcilable differences ...

Agree, that is how I'm viewing the friends/comments thing, as clutter clearing.

Goodness. Thank you very much for that info. MUCH better. You can actually see things. Posts are separated, quotes are visible, no need to spend time looking for headings/titles/links. I really think it should be the default layout. It's sleek and modern looking without being totally difficult to navigate.
