Is there anything we can do to get thumbnails if we DON'T want to join those image sites. How do we do this if we have our own server?

You can't ..however If you follow the directions here :

Attaching 'outside the box' with tFS' Image attacher

..you will be able to post smaller images - not the standard thumbnail size that imageshack, photobucket etc has .. tFS's 'thumbnails aren't really thumbnails.. they are just somewhat shrunken images..still clickable like regular thumbnails and whats more.. unviewable by non-members.

Hello, I'm fairly new to this kind of thing, I tried to upload my scanned images to ImageShack but it took a loooooongggg time, is that normal? Should I resize my image?

If the pics have like 2 mb of size or so bc you said its scanned pics, it takes some serious time to upload it by imageshack.
upload them by www.imagevenue.com, is way more faster.

Hi obsvr... sometimes both imageshack & imagevenue are painfully slow to load images. Also imageshack will automatically resize your images if they are too large. Imagevenue's max size is 3 Megs. Personally I often find imagevenue to be faster uploading multiple images as Filipe said.

I've been having issues posting thumbnails recently. Ever since I've been a member here, I've posted thumbnails fine. But now when I post thumbnails, it tells me I am over the limit of 15 when there aren't 15. There could be 10 thumbnails but it will double count them....so instead of 10, it says there are 20. Does that make sense? Can someone help me out?

FYI, I use imageshack.

No one else has reported this issue so I suspect it's something at your end or at ImageShack. Is it possible you are double posting the thumbnails somehow ... hitting enter/post more than once? Have you looked at your ImageShack account to see if somehow they don't have each image there more than once?

Try restarting your computer ... sometimes that helps when you get a weird glich.

Just adding on to this post. Photobucket does have a thumbnail function.

All you have to do is to select the pictures you want to thumbnail, click on the "Generate IMG and HTML Code" which is this one here:


then you will be redirected to this page, the code for forum thumbnails is the one in the middle/circled

I don't know if it's at our end or not ... but I'll report it... since 2 of you are having the same problem. Maybe they can tweak something .... I really don't know if they can help or not. I could posibly be a problem with Imageshack, too.
