mmmann; I don't think this is the right forum for this question or complaint.
this is definitely the right forum to ask especially since it appears that ImageShack have specifically banned hotlinking from The Fashion Spot.
I am so upset over this. Every single image I have ever posted over the time I've been a member has been with ImageShack
Mods, is there any way that you can contact Image Shack and get an explanation?
I posted this in the other thread but I'll post it here too
Quote:
2. Terms of Service
ImageShack® reserves the right to remove or replace any uploaded files, and assumes no liability for lost registration links or misplaced file URLs. Changing ImageShack® linking codes is prohibited without prior permission.
The following types of files constitute "abuse" may not be uploaded under any circumstances:
Pornographic files. This includes, but is not limited to, files depicting genitalia, nudity, or sexual situations.
Files that are illegal and/or are in violation of any United States laws.
Files that infringe on the copyrights of any entity excluding the user.
Non-image or non-swf files. This includes archived non-image files.
Files intending to harass or spam, or promote anything for commercial profit.
If any domain hotlinks to abusive files, any file hotlinked on that domain will display this image, and the domain's owner must ensure the quick removal of all files hotlinked from ImageShack® on that domain. Domains containing the phrases "toplist", "topsites", "porn", or "hentai" are banned regardless of abuse.
Uploading abusive files may result in the immediate termination of the user's ability to use ImageShack® or any of its provided services. The ImageShack® website may not load, all ImageShack®-hosted files may not load, and all files and accounts related to the abusive files will be subject to deletion. Circumventing ImageShack®'s ability to enforce the ImageShack Terms of Service will result in prosecution.
Maybe the mods could contact them and ask if there's anything that can be done in order to restore hotlinking? Gah..it's so unfair...it's not tFS's fault if something is uploaded which is abusive Maybe contact them and say that they tell you the url of the offending image you will remove it and ban the user so that they don't post again.
^I too hope it's just temporary. but I sense it's not. . uploadit did some similar joke a few months ago.
by the way.. if someone wants to fix their posts replacing the frog with the original image.. don't hesistate in sending me the working link (s), I can edit them.
It doesn't have the obscene ads like imageshack and imagevenue do sometimes, and its pretty fast.
This site is better for smaller images though. The reason is that larger images will be resized on divshare, and then you have to click another link to get the large image.

The reason why I preferred ImageShack over others was because of the "upload from URL" option - it made things so much easier than having to save pics onto my hard drive then upload them again. It also had a pretty cool function built into Firefox which allows you to right-click on an image and instantly upload it.
Does anyone know any other sites besides imageshack and photobucket that have the "upload from URL" option? Thanks.

You can also do that on photobucket.
