I don't see the adult content.

To add, I've also checked on my Nokia Internet Tablet N800 and Zune HD. Same result.

Keep in mind that this involves multiple operating systems and browser types. Only Firefox has tweaked ad and pop-up blocking on any of my systems.

The moral of the story: If content is marked as FAMILY SAFE on one of the banned hosts, I don't see anything troubling.

In terms of issues with all the image hosts regarding thumbnail size, linking, upload issues, etc. I agree with the concerns raised, as I've commented on those imagehosts in the past. Some defiantly more than others...

With respect to increasing allowance for dimensions and file size...I've been noticing in the last 2 pret-a-porter seasons that a fraction of files exceed both criteria for upload on most if not all of the imagehosts that have been discussed. There were times when I elected not to bother with looking for alternatives and simply chose not to upload photos. In certain threads, however, at my discretion I did edit the source material to conform to the upload parameters. It's a pain...but if the approved imagehosts are competent and reliable, then those who continue to post should consider editing for the sake of being able to share with the forum.

^ For the record, same results here for ImageBam on my Mac. I tested it with some of my own recent uploads (and I always choose family safe) in Firefox, Safari, Chrome, and Camino, with all ad blockers turned off, and saw no porn.

To compare, I uploaded a few of the same images to ImageVenue and ImageHaven, also family safe, and I DID see the porn there. But ImageBam was clear in my test, if that helps any.

Yep. Sometimes when I multi-upload and there is just 1 image that has nudity, I mark the whole batch as all adult-content (because of the multi upload), so perhaps others are doing this too, and when people click on an image that looks safe, porn will come up because it has indeed been marked as adult....

So if this ban happens to change one day, I will definitely be sure to upload NSFW images seperately instead of in a batch of other photos that aren't actually NSFW

However there's always those that mark the photos as adult content when there's no nudity whatsoever, like I just saw and also noticed that on imagebam now not only shows the pop-up but there's a slideshow of porn photos from something apparently called the Facebook of Sex, which is pretty awful, that being said I agree on not allowing to use imagebam when you are going to upload nudity.

Something I didn't ask yet, does fashionpix allows to upload nudity ?

I'm a fervorous ImageShack user. I have 20,000+ images stored at it and, so far, it was the best hoster I could find when it's about keeping track of the picutres. With the tagging thing I can easily find them afterwards. (:
The site itself is a bit slow, but with ImageShack toolbar things become much easier. The transload function uploads huge images [up to 5MB] in seconds, and you don't need to save the photo to your HD or to browse the actual site at all ó all the tagging, resizing, privacy and sizebar options are available in the transload popup.
The only problem with ImageShack is that they're very strict about nudity, even infered.

finchesthalia - Imagebam is now banned

There is an announcement at the top of the forum here: http://forums.thefashionspot.com/f43...ml#post6629943

Your images won't show porn ads because you didn't mark them as adult, but the rule applies to anything hosted on Imagebam. I think it's a shame as the hassle of rehosting images will probably put members off posting celebrity candid and red carpet photos.

We are not asking you to change ( or re-upload) anything you hosted there before and have previously posted here. We are just asking you to find another home for your images that you intend to post here in the future.

We are looking at ImageBam again ... we'll let you know if we make any concessions or not.

Yes, sorry if I wasn't clear, but I understand. What I mean is that if someone gets red carpet photos from (say) Celebrity-Paradise, they'd have to download all the images and then reupload them to an acceptable host to share them here. Sometimes there are around 50 images, that would take ages.

But I'm glad you're reconsidering ImageBam

Isn't that what should be done anyways instead of hotlinking from the original site and using (stealing) their bandwidth?

Aside from the hotlinking etiquette issue, site can take thier images down at any time which would break the image link here. It seems there is/was a discussion about tFS, hotlinking, dead image links and image archiving relating to making sure an image stays available here.

If the images are from Celebrity-Paradise then they would already be hosted on an image site like Imagebam, so it's not hosted on Celeb-Paradise itself and it isn't directly hotlinking from there.

I agree we shouldn't hotlink directly to websites though, unless they're public image hosts which if they're from Celeb-Paradise they would be.
