I posted this months Beauty In Vogue cover and review in the appropriate issue thread (Vogue Italia November 2012) but it got deleted for being "off-topic." I'm literally failing to see how that was off topic in any way as its about something in the magazine.

Cool your heels, please!

We are not on 24/7 and we are all in different time zones. It's only 8:45 AM here .... and you asked this querstion about 3 in th morning our time. You may expect an answer to any request within 24 hours, but much sooner than that is an unreasonable expectation.

I will investigate now, and get back to you and post what happened..

OK ... very simple;

The thread is in the Magazine's forum ... and the topic is "Vogue Italia November 2012 : Kate Upton by Steven Meisel" and that means this thread is about that magazine ... and no other magazine. The cover of this magazine and the reactions to that cover are "on topic".

You posted another magazine cover altogether .... it has absolutley nothing to do with this issue of Vogue Italia.

Your own comment about the cover you posted:
Quote:
Finally something different from the Kate Upton debate

Beauty In Vogue - Cara Delevingne by Ellen Von Unwerth
Hence ... it's "off topic".

Beauty In Vogue comes with this issue of Vogue Italia though? A supplement as such? So really it's not off topic at all as the 'Finally something different from the Kate Upton debate' was about her weight/calling her a pornstar/slut etc so really my post didn't deserve to be deleted.

Ah .... sorry. It's obvious that the moderator who deleted it (and I) missed the point that it was a supplement to Vogue Italia.

I can restore it ... but need your permission to edit your comment slightly ... to clarify that it was a supplement in that issue. Would that be OK?

It's restored.

Your post was deleted because it was in response to a post that was deleted for violating Community Rules. We do not generally send notifications in cases like this, because you didn't break any rules yourself.

I don't really get the "size" part of the "no size, weigth or diet talk" rule. If I say someone has is wide-hipped (...has a broad pelvis), has narrow knees etc. then that is size talk, but also a reference to bone-structure. We seem to be allowed to talk about a faces bone-structure, like cheek-bones, but not the rest of the skeletton. Where do you draw the line? No "size" talk below the jaw?

Would it be possible for the automatic "comminity rules reminder" message to contain the removed post? That way I could see exactly what I did wrong... A lot of talk is boarderline, and sometimes I don't agree with which posts get removed. I'd love the chance to analyse them.

You did not receive a community rules reminder...your post was deleted and you got an auto-message asking you to review the community rules in general.

i am including part of the test of your post that was deleted as you wanted it to be analyzed...

And (with maybe ann exception of the Versace ad) her legs do still look like her own after they have been photoshopped. Maybe a little skinnier here, a little longer there, and retouched, but you can tell she is bow legged and rather short.
to recap, we do not allow members to debate about the skinnier or "skinniest" parts of the body. period. no discussion about size. i understand this may have been confusing for you as you may have noticed that other members are NOT posting about size/weight etc..or if they are those posts are removed by us. we try to dissuade members from having these conversations.

^Thanks for getting back to me. HeatherAnne sent me the full post, and I understand that you would react to the word "skinnier". I just forgot that I used it... I could easily have used less loaded words, or frased myself differently, since I was basically just saying that Kates legs are tweaked by photoshop, but are still her own. I'll try to thread more carefully in the future, and not loose my cool while defending Kates great legs

I responded to this post the other day, opining that the story to which it linked was hilarious. That's all. My post was deleted and I got a warning with an instruction to read the Community Rules.

I don't post very often and when I do, I try to share hard-earned experience with members in the hope that it might be useful. Some have found it useful, which is great. I know that some of my remarks may annoy some people but it's strange to get a warning for thinking something is funny and making it known.

If some moderator here has a problem with me, I don't mind it being aired publicly. Bring it on. And then, let's compare fashion-related CVs...
