If a thread is edited, i.e., posts are removed, they simply disappear; the order of the remaining posts does not change.

To change the number of posts shown on each page, use the drop-down menu found at:

User CP > Edit Options > Thread Display Options > Number of Posts to Show per Page

The forum default is currently 15, I believe.

What do you mean, "the posts aren't what they should be?" Are you saying that it does not display the number of posts per page that you selected?

The more details you can provide, the easier it will be to find a solution.

For instance, in the Grace Kelly thread, post 3570 should be the first post on page 170 and it is not. I don't understand how that would happen if the post was simply edited.

If any post prior to your post is deleted in a thread then the location of individual posts will change.

Just because you don't recall a missing post doesn't mean none have been removed. Dead links mean posts at the beginning of a thread could be removed and all subsequent posts will shift.

Similarly if a thread is merged into a thread all posts will move downwards. The help desk does not need to be contacted about such matters.

Yes, that was what happened of course.
Nothing significant at all.

A mod told me to contact the help desk. And it is not just the Grace Kelly thread, it is the Doutzen thread, the Ava Gardner thread, the Jessica Szohr thread and the Jonathan Rhys Meyer thread. It seems the whole board has the hiccups. I just find it odd. I am not smarting off, just saying it looks weird.

I'm the mod that told you in response to your PM to me about the Grace Kelly & Ava Gardner threads... that you should contact a Star Style moderator or the help desk... because I was going offline last night & wouldn't be able to assist you. I see now that both tangerine & strawberrydaiquiri have answerd your question.

Thank you tang & strawberry

But I still don't get it-so every single thread on the board is edited and therefore they are all wonky? Because in every thread that I go into it, they are all messed up. I mean, is there any way to restore the posts to the way they were and to stop them from shifting like that? Whenever posts were edited in the past, nothing really seemed affected and this is the second tectonic shift in a month.

^No, there has indeed been a strange phenomenon with posts and page counts on the boards, but they are not "messed up," so to speak...all the previous content is still in place and accessible. As of right now we are not sure what happened -- it might have been something that occurred during a server update which caused the issue. But since this is not a major problem, it has not been a focus of attention. Please just remain patient as we continue to investigate
