We are aware that tFS is experiencing technical difficulties ... slow or not loading threads intermittantly.

There is a conversation about this issue in the tFS is Not Working For Me thread, if you wish to check on the status.

Rule suggestion
  1. Emoticon only posts.

I think this forum need this new rule because I've seen so many members post with emoticon only. Isn't that called spamming? I'm sure some people will find it annoying expecially in magazines section, ad campaign, etc.

Acttually it is a rule in some forums here... only if they do it repeatedly. But to be honest, I can't remember which forums. I'd have to ask the modertors ... its some of the ones where we get to worst offenders all the time.

And yes .... some people have to be reminded and warned about this sort of thing ... using mostly smileys and/or making short one or two word posts like "I like!" or "Cute!" ... We call it power posting because a lot of people do it to get their post counts up and it is very distracting and irritating to the other members. It is one of the hardest things to moderate ... because some people just don't have much to contribute and feel that they want to say something. Repeat offenders are notified and asked to tone it down. But you would not see when we tell them about the rule an delete the posts, because all moderator actions are confidential.

We prefer that our members actually contribute insightfull comments, ask good questions and provide information to move the thread forward. We expect a certain maturity and meaningful contributions from our members ... but we can't always control that.

I understand since it's a big community here but can I report it as spamming?

If you keep noticing a member with a power posting style you can let a moderator of the forum know..

The Report Post function is primarily for reporting spam, trolls, inappropriate content such as pornography, racism, arguments that de-rail the thread etc..

What if an account has not been accessed say since, 2002? Can the account be deleted?

No, accounts are not usually deleted. Many members come back after a long absence ... and start using the account again. It happens frequently.

We sometimes deactivate accounts for administrative purposes, but it's still there and they keep the record, just in case. If a member wants to have his own account deleted ...there is more information about that in the Community Rules, if you want to read about it. But then they may not start a second account ... they effectively ban themselves by doing this.

Are you angleing for someone's name XR?

Yes preciesly .
The person has not been on since 2002, the name is Vogue.
But I guess I'll have to do the waiting game.

What I want to mention is that when I am in a thread and click on a picture to enlarge it.......the picture comes up and so does a row of ads for porno type sites.

Does this have anything to do with tfs or is it totally separate?

Not sure if I'm posting this in the right area.. On the home page for the forum the ads often cover over the drop down boxes for search, quick links etc. It's really annoying because I can't access my subscribed threads because if I clicked on it it would take me to some horrible spam site. I can understand you having ads for $$, but they really shouldn't obstruct the menu.
