We are aware of this is a problem with certain ads ... but the only way the company can change this is if we can identify exactly which ads create the problem. if you can get a screen capture of the ad(s) and post it here ... we'll pass that along to the management and they can have the tech people look into it. The ads change frequently, and it's not a problem with most of them ... so you should find that it goes back to normal in a few days.

I spoke with the management the other day about this issue ... ads covering some of your tools. I was told that the ads that do this are probably what they call a roll over ads ... which means if you roll your curser over it (even without clicking), it expands and that is intentional. However .... there should be a way to close that window. Look for a "close" button at the bottom or an X in the upper right hand corner.

This Marshalls ad has been reported. I don't see any thing on your screen capture to indicate that it can be closed .... but it might be below ... not sure.

So, everyone, keep reporting any ads that won't close ... it's best if you can get a screen capture like the one, above.

was just wondering if this was happening to anyone else i've only just noticed these highlighted underlined green words that if you hover over them appear to be ads.

Yes ... it started for me just today. Irritating, isn't it?

I'll verify with the company management that this is something they are doing on purpose and I'll report what I find out.

highly irritating i had a little panic that my laptop had something wrong with it.

i dont mind the ads at the top of the page at first it was abit weird but now i can choose to ignore them but i cannot ignore the strange green writing since i actually have to read it.

even stranger since it just seems to be random words

Update .... It's a paid ad .... so there is definitely nothing wrong (which is what I figured).

However ... I'll pass along any feedback, if you'd like to post it here.

well they are irritating its not like you have a choice to block them like with pop ups i fully understand the need for ads to keep the website going but actually putting ads in peoples posts is going bit far i think.

but i supose its all just package and parcel of tfs exchanging hands.

It is precisely the result of tFS changing hands ... you have a good understaniding of it. We are now owned by a media advertising company ... so ads of every type can be expected.

They tell me it's just a test at this time, but could become a regular option for advertisers. They are limiting how many times on each page it can appear, so that explains why it's a bit random and I'm thankful that it doesn't show up every time that word appears.. So feedback is appreciated .... negative, positive or merely neutral.
