I'm also getting malware notifications in a lot of threads, mentioning turboimagehost as the source.

Alert!!

Today, it has been reported that any photos posted in our forums that have been hosted on Turbo Image Host ... may have malware that could be malicious.

To avoid picking up malware on your computer, do this:

1. Check the source of any thumbnail images before clicking on them. If they are hosted here: http://s4d4.turboimagehost.com ... DO NOT CLICK ON THEM, to see a large image.
2. Make sure that you have good, updated virus and malware protection installed on your computer.
3. Do a full scan at this time to be sure you have not picked up any malware from this site, accidentaly.

We have reported it to management and tech support. Not sure if there is anything we can do at our end ... it's not coming from us ... but wanted to ask, just in case.

We have disconnected all turboimagehost links until we are sure they have removed the malware from their servers.

"Turboimagehost has been de-listed as harmful site. Block has been removed and posters can resume using it." per our tech person.

Problem should be over.

Hello, I'm not sure if this is a good thread to ask this... In some of the threads I subscribe to there is a user who is constantly hotlinking... I mean she always "upload" full-sized images, some of them are really big so the page takes ages to load- even though I'm not on a slow connection. I find it really annoying... It's great that she wants to share some pics with us but is it possible to inform her in some way that she should use the hosting site? Looks like some members apparently are not familiar with the forum rules regarding hotlinking...

Another reason we don't like hotlinking. The member cannot control the size of the image.

Just "Report" those posts that are causing loading problems because the image is too large. We'll delete them for being too large. Then, if it continues, we'll have a talk with the member.

Our Community Rules say that images should not be larger than 800x800 pixels ... (we actually allow slightly larger ones, as long as the are not hanging up the threads ... sort of case by case). So, for huge images, we ask our members to either reduce the pixel size before uploading them to their hosting site ... or for huge Hi Def photos, to use their hosting site's "thumnail" code instead, when they post the images.

I think this is the right place to post this... I've noticed recently that an image hosting site's name has been censored, and I don't know why. Here's an example. Any reason? Is this intentional? It has resulted in a lot of pictures being blocked.

TIA.

It is intentional. There are a number of sites that we have needed to block for various reasons, such as spamming, malware or legal reasons, and this is one of the ways we block them.
