There is a 'prt sc' [print screen] button on the keyboard...then you just paste into any image programme...

I use this though, printkey 2000, its nothing new or spectacular, but its just what you need. Free and doesnt put any ads or anything on your image. You can capture the whole screen or just a section of it, then you can save the capture, print it or copy it to a new programme! [I use this because my prt sc button didnt work]

Heres the link to download

I think you're on a mac though, right karina?
you need to use the "Grab" application. I dont' know the steps because I'm at work on my PC, but you can open Grab and use the Help section and play around.

^ Yes, I forgot to specify that I use a MAC, so unfortunately printkey2000 doesn't work for me. Thanks for the suggestion though JR1!

Mundodabolsa, I'm not familiar with the "grab" application. Where do I find this on the computer?

If you're talking about taking a screen shot press COMMAND (apple key) + SHIFT + 4 at the same time and a "cross hair" will appear. Then press the SPACE BAR. A camera will show up and you just click the mouse or SPACE BAR again. An icon labeled "Picture 1" will appear on your desktop

^ Are you sure? I've been pressing those keys but having no joy
Btw what's a cross-hair look like? Did you need a certain programme on the computer to do this?

this is the greatest shortcut ever!! thanks so much

(in case you still want to go the long, cumbersome way and use Grab karina, it's in your Finder menu under Go>Applications)

I'm trying to make screencaps of a dvd film I have on the computer, but when I use grab it says I have to quit my dvd player programme!

I'm seriously going crazy! Coz I'm going on these sites about making screencaps and they say the same thing as you guys - but it just isn't working for me! If someone is able to help me out big-time I'd be over the moon and give you big-time karma!

Grab does not let you do screencaps of a DVD, only other stuff. I don't think the shortcut works with DVD Player either (at least it didn't in my trial), I don't know any way to grab from DVDs on Macs, sorry I'd love to know too though if someone else does!

Here are some exaples of websites i am asking about: http://www.modelplus.com.pl/ or http://www.division.pl/flash_content/flash_content.html .

Those photos are on a slideshow so you have to screencap them. There are several programs for screencapping, but mine is not that good so maybe someone else could suggest you a better one.

I just hit the PrtSc (print screen) button, and paste it into Photoshop, into a new document
