You can use Windows Paint instead of Photoshop.

OK..You do PrtScreen, paste it into Paint, Crop the pic part removing the Explorer part, and then what do you do to save that picture on you hard drive as a JPEG? I always get the whole screen when iI try to save it...

You need to crop the pic, then cut (ctrl+x) after this you open a new document (ctrl+n). Paste it (ctrl+v) and you can finally save it (ctrl+s)

cheers.

Boomer, just put the mouse on the new cropped pic, right-click and choose copy, then open a new document and choose paste from the menu bar. That will do.

Alternatevely, just close the program and it will ask you if you want to save the changes made in the document, click yes.

Hope that helps !

You screencap the way you would other websites - hit the PrtSc button and paste the image into a new Microsoft Paint (or any other program) document. However, since you're dealing with a video, you'll find that you have to repeatedly pause the video if you want to take several screenshots.

I believe there are programs available that allow you to take many screenshots at a time (with a video) without going through the entire process of taking a screencap, pasting the image, and saving the picture - however, I do not know enough about these to comment on them.

How do you screen cap when you have a Mac? I can't seem to figure it out and I don't have any type of photoshop or anything.

How to extract images from flash websites
Is there such program/application for either Mac or Windows that could extract images from flash websites such as Dolce&Gabbana, Prada, Vuitton etc?

I really want to extract ad campaigns, product photos, etc from the said websites. For example in Prada. The only way I could get the ad campaign images is through screencapping, but when I do that, the NEXT>> and <<PREVIOUS button thingies are included like this one below:

prada.com

Then I saw these images from fashionrogue, they posted the full Prada campaign which is clean (w/o the next, previous buttons) and their source was:

Quote:
source | extracted from Prada
So there is a way then to extract images directly from the site.. Does somebody know how to do this? I'd be forever be indebted...

^ Sure sure. I never expected that it would be so easy. There's no special software that extracts images, you just need Safari.

So for instance, I would want to extract the clean ad campaign photos from Prada, here are the steps:

1. Launch Safari
2. Go to prada.com
3. Press Option-Command-A (for Mac), I dunno the Windows counterpart. Or just click the Window menu then Activity right below Downloads.
4. The Activity Panel would show up and it lists all the stuff loaded in the website such as swf files, mp3s, jpgs, gifs, etc.
5. In this Prada example, let's go to Collections then Ad Campaigns.
6. In the Activity Panel, a list of URLs show up which means that those are the addresses of the stuff shown in the website, then find the URL with a .jpg extension for example: http://www.prada.com/assets/img/camp...S_FW09_AD2.jpg

And there you have it, the image is extracted. Back at the Prada website, when you click next, a new ad campaign image will show up. Also at the Activity Panel, a new URL will be listed and just do this process until you get all the images.

Only Safari has this function? Is there any other browser I can use instead?
