Why Was My Post Deemed Spam?
Hiya TFS,
I'm not sure if I am supposed to post this question here...I sent a message to the moderators but haven't yet received a response and I wasn't sure if I used the correct contact method. I received a message stating that my comment in a discussion forum was deleted because it was deemed "spam" since I wrote a post on my blog related to the post in the discussion forum...my blog included pics of the items/line in question. I noticed that another blogger did the same exact thing, nitrolicious, with explicit instructions to go to her blog...yet that was not deemed spam and her post was not removed from the discussion forum. I'd like to know why mine was deemed spam while hers, the same sort of post, was not deemed spam and was not removed. I can't help but feel that if you're a "bigger blogger" so to speak, then this is allowed. Lesser known bloggers, meanwhile, are deemed "spammers" for doing the exact same thing. Can a TFS mod explain this to me? I'd appreciate any input...thanks in advance. Sincerely, Me!

All tFS members are allowed to have a link to their blog in their signature, as you do, and one post in the tFS Member Blogs thread. Beyond that, continually promoting a blog or attempting to redirect members to a blog is not allowed under the site terms of use and community rules.
Any time you see a post that you believe is not acceptable under the terms of use, you may use the report post link under the member's avatar and profile (next to the give karma link.) While the moderating team monitors the entire site, it is not possible for the team to catch every mistaken post; please be assured that it is our intention to maintain a consistent approach as much as possible. Always feel free to contact a mod (you can PM any of us, use the contact us link at the bottom of each page, or post in member support as you have done) if you are concerned about any content on tFS. I hope this helps!

She has done that several times, with instructions included to view items on her blog, and her comments have remained in the discussion forums. Not only that, but in that particular post that you pointed out, for example, her comments (which are STILL there) were not only seen by several moderators, but they actually followed her instructions, clicked through to her blog, and came back to the TFS forums to comment on them. So this is not a case of having "read up" and missing such posts. This is a case of such posts being being acknowledged, and permitted (selectively). I went to that particular post and STILL, Nitrolicious' posts remain there and have not been removed, nor have they been deemed spam - even though they were pointed out in your earlier post in this thread. In my opinion, this demonstrates a double standards with a hardline approach being taken with lesser known bloggers who are in turn treated as "spammers", while bigger bloggers are permitted to post freely. I find this very unfair. Sincerely, Moi
