Suggestion for the magazine forum
Good evening!
I have a suggestion for the magazine forum; Most magazine threads are started when the cover has been "released". With the most popular threads, like Vogue Paris, Vogue Italia, etc, it can take up to 6-10 pages before someone has the opportunity to give a review of the editorial content. My suggestion is to make it a general principle for the mods to copy the review into the first post of the thread when it becomes available, so that it is easy to find in a large thread with a lot of posts. At least for the most popular magazines. |

Good evening, Omnis !
I will suggest as well that threads don't get created without a cover nor with covers small as this one below, which is extremely small and makes impossible for people give their opinion about it. ![]() ebay.co.uk

^^Filipe, we've actually already modified the rule about starting threads and now do require the cover image, I think you probably missed it due to it being a new update:
http://forums.thefashionspot.com/sho...4&postcount=82 We again ask that all members take note of this change As for the actual size requirement of the image, that may come under more discussion.

Oh ok. Well the rules haven't been followed then, lately ... I guess. What's point of clicking a new thread that's on that New Threads List and realize that there's no cover ? just giving the info that's the X model will on it but no cover whatsoever ? It comes down to common sense ... for some reason I think some members just enjoy the fact that they are the ones making the thread ...
Same thing goes for that ridiculously small image of the cover, where you can't see basically anything. No point on starting a thread with that either.

^The rule was only implemented yesterday, so from now on we will be enforcing it. We won't be penalizing threads that were made prior to the public change

I don't mean to sound picky but is there any way that we can limit the posts that only say "thanks" or a smiley face? There are a lot of threads that are six pages long with just a cover and people posting a thanks or asking for a review. Just a suggestion

I think there's actually a rule for that but the threads can't always be moderated and I don't really think members in general are aware of it.
Thanks Faith.

Filipe is correct, we do have that rule in one of the forums where it's become very disruptive. We call it "power posting or empty posting". I think the rule is for the SC forums ... not the magazine forum. If I am correct, you will find that rule pinned near the top of the SC forum.

More and more people are making more and more meaningless posts here,at least for me.Let me make some examples:A guy is asking for magazine cover rumor over and over again in the magazine forum..Another guy,the number of his post is almost 10000,but 90% of his posts are like these:Thanks for scanning/Indeed it's an amazing cover/I like this ed very much. Most of them are just blah blah blah...Another guy,he is replying all the new postes at his favourite model's thread.I think he maybe views tFS as an online fashion chatroom....![]() Sorry for expressing all these negative words.I found it's just harder and harder to find some fantastic & wise & sightful posts during the ocean of these blah blah blah blah blah blah posts.I miss the old tFS,thoght I'm not registered then. ![]() Last edited by MaryMeeker : 1 Week Ago at 07:17 AM. |

I see your point and you're right, MaryMeeker. You can always complain to a mod about those who power post.
I think that by not allowing people to create a thread without a cover is already a start. But my suggestion would be to implement that rule that's in the SC forum, in the magazines forum as well, from what I've seen, I think it's necessary.

However, i personally do not see the problem with the small quality cover images being posted. I mean sure they are small, but take that UK Vogue cover, i was happy to see a glimpse of the cover already. Its not that small, and one can write its opinion based on it, thats where i entirely disagree with Felipe. Unlike with just empty thread quoting random text with the mention of the cover star, from the mag site, now that is just useless! Last edited by Miss Dalloway : 1 Week Ago at 02:08 PM. |

I see. I think it's THAT small, too small. I can't even read what's written there, nor see the model's face, basically anything, so one can't give an opinion about it. The cover should have been posted in the Cover Rumor Thread and not be used to create a thread for it, then there's 8 pages of comments, I go through them and what I find is that incredibly small cover. Well, to each their own, I guess. I don't think this rule will ever be implemented, just thought I'd share my thoughts.
