Andy has been ABSOLUTELY fabulous and super nice and kind .... and Bear, well ... he 2was around so often and was so quiet and we owe him all of this!!! Are the owner Conde-nasties? Rich petrol arabs? Latinamerican moguls? Asian businnessmen???? Aaahhhh

Wow, this is news! I'll chime in with everyone else: Who do we owe the pleasure of being our mysterious new benefactors?....
I just hope we don't have to censor ourselves and the threads so as not to offend the new owners. If it was Larry Flint^^ we wouldn't have to worry about our First Amendment rights though! I too hope this doesn't require any exorbitant fees. And does this mean an expansion of networking/career stuff? I hope TFS stays nice like this. Here are answers to some of the questions:
Q: Will this forum eventually require membership fees? A: I don't know 100% of their plans but I am pretty sure tFS is going to remain free. The premium account upgrades are still available and hopefully they will polish that offering to entice more members to sign up for premium account. The basic membership will remain free. Q: What do you mean by videos? Some by tFS or youtube etc? A: I think they are talking about creating a section where you can watch cool fashion related videos like fashion shows, interviews, and other relevant content. Some of that content might indeed be created by tFS members (I am not sure). Maybe we will have some tFSers become stars soon!?! Q: Will this go Public? A: I am not sure what you are asking. The announcement is now public (via this thread) but if you are talking about an IPO, I can't comment on that. We are still a pretty small community so I don't think an IPO for just the fashion spot is in the cards at the moment. Hopefully the new owners will be able to grow tFS and who knows what the future holds. Q: Will tFS have open registrations in the near future? A: I am not sure. I know that we experience attrition so we need to keep adding new fresh members to keep the vibrancy of the forums at it's peak. When we opened up invitations for all members the community started to show strong signals of being more vibrant (more posts, new threads, etc). So if they do open things up, I think it would lead to more fresh perspectives which would outweigh the negatives (spammers and newbies). It's up to the new owners to determine the best path for tFS moving forward. If I were them, I would open up registrations and see how things go. Q: Who are the new owner's? A: They have chose to keep things on the down low right now for strategic reasons. I am sure they will introduce themselves soon. I can say that they have a lot of web experience and industry connections and the future is bright for tFS.
