^wishful thinking considering Starbucks' stock is on the decline, they're going to close 'a few' stores, and they've already discontinued their morning sandwiches. they've taken on too much and hopefully this is the wake up call to refine their product, services, and targeted demographic. yet i digress...

change is inevitable. I've only been around a short time and do not have the history of this site fresh in my memory. if Andy thinks it's a move towards a better forum, then I'll trust his decision to change ownership was a wise one. with respect to open registration...i can only say that i would be slightly perturbed...ONLY because it took a while for me to have the opportunity to join this forum. i do not have an "in" in the fashion industry and am otherwise employed in the private sector; but have a zeal and fervor for all things fashionable, and this is the only true outlet i have...

my opinion would be before seeking to grow exponentially, that the current membership be reviewed for consistent participation, that unused or little used logons be given a 30-day (arbitrary time frame) to re-enter and re-engage the forum, or otherwise be left out for lack of interest...when that membership has been refined, then obviously seek references for new members, and partnerships with other like minded sites.

anyway, that's my 2 cents. i'll step off the soapbox now

a parting question: could future membership be limited only to those who are employed in the fashion industry? (if so, i need to switch careers quickly...)

^^ Well, we have a pretty fair number of students and young people hoping to be models, designers, photogs or work for fashion houses and magazines, so just allowing current people in the field may be very self defeating in the long run- IMO...
