Where are the moderators when it comes to patrolling the threads? It's as if you guys are targeting me. I just read someone attack somebody in te Katie Homes and Tom Cruise divorce thread and another member attack somebody else in the "Hedi Slimane for YSL" thread and once again I don't see any moderator do anything about it.
members are allowed to respectfully disagree with each other. we don't allow personal attacks however.

if you see these or any other posts violating our Community Rules please use the report this post function. you'll see it on every post here.

you are correct we can't be everywhere at once.

i just checked our records and i see that you've never used this feature. are you aware of it?

please try it next time.

^In those situations when you are aware of a situation please use the report post feature and it will be dealt with as a matter of urgency, as Lucy said, we can't be everywhere so we do appreciate members reporting posts so we can handle situations we aren't aware of .

One thing I'd like to point out to all members, when reporting a post for rudeness or disrespect : it's only against the rules to say something negative about other members or their opinions.

It's actually OK to have a negative opinions about a model, a celebrity or a designer's or editor's work .... unless you keep harping on it to the point that it's irritating or causing arguments among the members. So please do not report the occasional negative opinon ... each member is entitled to have one and may explain why.

I just received an official warning due to saying a dress was not cute. Other posters on that same thread have said and has been saying far worse, yet I was the one targeted and post deleted. I also feel this mod has a vendetta against me, is there a system to have this complaint filed and looked into by someone else? I love it here and have been a member for a number of years, but this mod is making it not much fun. Thanks.

You will not know if other members have also had posts deleted or received reminders or warnings, as this is kept confidential. However, if you feel you are being singled out, you can contact any of the mod team leaders, or you can contact the Help Desk using the Contact Us link at the bottom of every forum page.

I don't understand how I received a warning for bringing the "slut shaming" issue to light and actually agreeing with someone AND not targeting anyone yet there are consequences? I'm referring to the Vogue/Kim K thread. There's people talking about kim's weight, her being a "porn star" and not classy (It's off topic too so shouldn't that be removed" and yet I'm receiving a warning? Okay.

Just took a quick look at what happened and while there are comments in the thread that are hardly respectful and I can understand why you were upset, instead of setting the example of the level of respect you expect, you aggravated the situation by taking the insults from celebrity to tfs member, which is always more inflammatory. We always recognize the effort some members do to preserve an atmosphere of respect when things are getting out of control, by contributing with something thoughtful or at least alerting the mod team by using the report post feature... these are both effective ways to 'get back' at negative comments, by being constructive and not destructive, unfortunately calling another participant a piece of **** falls into the latter.

So you know .... "slut shaming" in itself is not against the rules, actually. It might be off topic depending on the forum and the thread or if some member keeps harping on it for pages and pages ... we might advise them to knock it off. But they are allowed to post an opinion, positive or negative about any model or celebrity.

However ..... directing an insult at another member (for any reason, deserved or not) is definitely against the rules here ... it always has been. It's one of the quickest ways to loose membership privileges.

so because I basically said that I'm not bothered by his preferences, that makes me disrespectful? no it does not, on the other hand, it does make the mod squad not only oversensitive but disrespectful of my opinion.

I expressed my viewpoints in a civilized manner, not using foul language.

But I get it, this is a forum, and moderators sometimes take offence on forums for no sensible reason, so okay, delete my comments. My opinion remains the same.

I know you will probably give me the usual "our forum, our rules, don't like it then go away" thing, but let me just say, maybe if you actually bothered to ask what a person meant before you delete their comment, there would be more discussion, more user activity.

Because as I can see, your user activity, in terms of posters, is, umm, low.

Also maybe consider opening up the registration, I had to harass a poor person on YouTube to send me invitation, not because I found your website so irresistibly marvelous, but because I like communities in which we can exchange a bit of thought about fashion and share ideas and whatnot.

You know, you can scold me and disapprove of what I have to say, but that doesn't make your forum any better. Just saying!

Have a lovely year, mod squad!

P.S. Just a friendly advice, perhaps you should actually post a list of taboos that people are not allowed to discuss here, such as nazism in fashion, because who knows, the sky might fall on the fashion spot, if people share their opinions. I think that would save new users from posting comments that will be deleted anyway.

You did not get a warning ... it was only a reminder about the rules and to explain why your post was deleted, so there is no real reason to get so upset.

There is a list ... it's called the Community Rules and they are linked at the bottom of ever single forum page. You should read them since you agree to abide by them when you were invited to join.

Here is what you said:
Quote:
Seriously? Are you trying to downplay what he said?

It's up to you, though. I couldn't care less what you enjoy or what you deem as acceptable.
That certainly looks like you are were not showing respect for what another member had to say ..... I would be insulted if you directed it at me.

And then there was this:
Quote:
ope, I love it too! and the people who want a nazi designer, well, go to margiela!
It's a political statement ... and we do no allow the discussion of politics, race, religion ... that is in the Community Rules, too.

I will admit that the thread was getting out of control ... and you are not the only member who had posts removed for breaking the rules in the heated discussion. But ... that is not an excuse to use the forums to lash back at others.

Kinda like how people say that Obama has to clean up the mess that Bush left behind, it was Raf's job to rebuild the reputation of Dior, and do you know what, I think he's doing a terrific job.
The fact that you deemed this as "political discussion" though, is beyond ridiculous. You guys have below-average judgement, I must say.

Meaningful content? I feel as if I'm the only one being penalized for my posts. What is considered 'meaningful' here? Smh. I've seen other users posts similar comments and yet their posts remain on the model thread. And wth is 'power posting'? These rules are getting more absurd.
