i know its pretty simple, and is probs good for moderate breakouts but Neutrogena Stress Acne Stress Control micro scrub has really kept my skin clear and smooth.
Also, I was on Accutane for a year and it did work wonders. i only get mild, not very often hormonal breakouts.
yes its risky im some peoples opinions, but IT WORKS

I finally got my ance under control, and now that I started exercising every night like crazy I'm having horrible breakouts I wash my face right after but I guess it does the damage while I'm exercising.

A long time ago before I got my acne under control I was prescribed everything under the sun accept for accutane which my mom wouldnt let me try. I found that everything dried out my skin, so my skin produced more oil and became flaky (clogged pores with oil and dead skin) which caused more zits. As soon as I stopped using everything accept just a light moisturizer the acne got a lot better. I think its worth a shot for any of you guys with acne! This makes me wonder if this is some kind of conspiracy..

ILoveMarcJacobsIm 22 years old and have had acne problems FOREVER especially getting off of the pill... Its been a constant struggle... Always on my chin. Ive tried everything from retin a to retin a micro... ive done it all... And now i am thinking of doing Accutane. ive recently been on Retin a for 6 months and nothing but dry skin reddness and acne still! So I am thinking of asking my Derm for this stuff July 12th... any advice would be golden... Even what I am to expect being on this a low amount of it.. thanks
AMY

i would just suggest to please, please, please do as MUCH research as you can on the subject before making the decision.

i was on it, and what i can tell you is:

pro:cleared up my acne and changed my life--made me much more confdent and outgoing.

con: believe it gave me a rare form of arthiritis that I cannot cure. i dont know if it will give me irreparable damage in the future or not.

please look at all of the accutane communities before making the step- then decide if your confidence or health is more important.

I'm considering Accutane too, I've already talked about it, and she will prescribe it if I want to. I've even arranged the birth control and all I need to do is to make the final appointment with the derm. But I'm still very preoccupied about the possible side effects. I know two people who have done it, and both have had perfectly fine experiences with no serious side effects.

But if you read some boards on the net, you will find really scary stuff. The thing is, you have no way of judging how much you should read into them. I browsed one Accutane board once, and was initially shocked at how many people seemed to report about similar serious-sounding side effects all around the board. But soon I realized that it was the same poster that talked about the same thing in EVERY SINGLE THREAD and seemed to be pretty nuts.

So I say, before making your decision on whether or not to go on Accutane, do your research, but don't let yourself be scared by some hysterical loonies either. I'm not sure what I'm going to do. I could keep getting regular antibiotics, but that's not a very attractive opinion either. Besides they only help as long as I'm on them, afterwards my skin worsens again. So sooner or later I probably will do Accutane, cross my fingers and hope for the best.

Can you tell me a little more about your experience, Mishahoi? What does your doctor say about the arthritis - does he think that it was probably caused by Accutane? How soon did it appear, and did you finish your prescription? Did you have other side effects?

I'm wondering how long you have to be on Accutane before your skin is completely clear?

I've done something for the past week and my skin is clearing up fasterr!!
Ok
I got organic apple cider vinegar and applied it to freshly cleansed skin.
Then waited 20 minutes and applied the mario Badescu Buffering lotion..a lot!
then appllied a bandaid over the affected area and the next day my skin wasnt PERFECT.. but it was deffinitely better.. much better continued use of three days and WOW =)

Okay, quick question (which kinda relates to the post above me): I have scars (just coloration, not bumps or anything) but I'm also still really acne-prone, so would something like Mederma make me break out or be okay? Because I'd love to start taking care of that!

Mederma is very good for hyperpigmentation it deffinitely doesnt break my out more but just dont use it on active breakouts.. also I'd be cautious to use it if you have sensitive skin .. another thing apple cider vinegar is very good too.. so a combination is perfect..
