For the last year and a half, I have been using 2 topical prescriptions for my acne, Retin-A and Duac, but I still struggle every single day with my face. I hardly ever have a day where I am very happy with how my skin looks.

Please let me know if anyone has had success with vitamins for acne
That's hugely expensive. People seem to forget we get many of our RDA of those vitamins/nutrients from our diet.
I was drinking some Powerade yesterday and was surprised to read on the back that it provided me with 40% of my RDA of Vitamin E. And that was from some junky energy drink! More often than not, supplements are a rip off, unless you have a deficiency caused by an illness.

My friend used Murad and really loved it! There's an ad for it at the side of this page right now lol
I've never used it before, but I have used Proactiv and like loads of people, I was disappointed and it didn't work for me.

I made myself an Aspirin mask this morning because my skin has been so dry lately because of the weather and I've been putting this stuff called Bye Bye Blemish on at night.. anyway, I thought it worked really well.

How often should someone use an Aspirin mask? I'm thinking like either every 2 weeks or once a month..

I have only done the aspirin mask on 2 occasions,it was when my skin was at its worst ever a few weeks back, and I'm scared that it maybe made my skin worse a day after. So I'm worried to do another one.

I wouldn't do more than 1 a week,I've said this before but remember to bear in mind, whilst it's still on the face, aspirin is still a drug that's getting into your system

Yeah, I recommend to do the mask every some weeks or twice a month. It really depends on how your skin get affect by it. If you do it too much it might irritated your skin with dryness since it happen to me.

I'm not so much.. had a breakout yesterday where whitheads popped up throughout the day. Horrible and really weird..
Though I had been using Nixoderm a little less.. and I've been under stress from arguments with people in my school.
I'm using the Garnier Pure Purifying Peel Kit right now to get rid of the blemishes/marks left behind. Wish me luck

I'm using aspirin mask at least 2 a week, I'm getting addicted to it!

I've had several break-outs lately and I hate it! I think I have to wait a little time it to heal

me too!

like i said before i usually only break out monthly due to what i call *ragdoll* but this time i didnt break out before or during. i got one right after it ended but its small/easy to cover with makeup and healing very quickly on its own. im so happy im like back to normal again because last month was horrible and i was sick...it could have been a contributor. cold = blowing all the fluids out of your nose and drying out not only my nose but my face too! i felt like i couldnt drink water/juices or apply moisturizer/lip chap fast enough to replenish myself!

is it true what they say that if you have dry skin and dont take care of it then your skin produces more oil? i used to have a lot of trouble with my skin so i can definitely believe that, it probably happened to me before. of course skin is always changing as you age and climates change etc

im no expert but my theory on this is that if you allow your skin to be drier than you're skin usually is you're body naturally sends the message to produce oil to make up for the dryness.

This is why over-drying cleansers, such as soap, and terms like squeaky clean are considered to be bad when it comes to skin.

I have a theory about moisturizers benefits for acne as well. If it softens the skin including flaking skin (easier to peel off) then maybe the same thing could be done for cysts. It can soften the layer of skin covering the spot and allow medication(or popping it) to penetrate to the cyst much easier. Therefore faster healing.

^ that sounds right.

my skin only got better after i stopped using harsh acne cleansers. i dont think they were particularly harsh but my skin is a bit sensitive to products made for acne.

your theory on the cystic acne and moisturizers sounds like it makes sense as well. in a way it helps the medication go on easier and plus acne medications are usually drying so the moisturizer would kind of help buffer the shock.

right now im using Neutrogena Makeup Remover wipes and rinsing it off with water. that seems to work nicely. when i dont use those i just use Clean & Clear Morning Burst(orange/citrus one) to remove my makeup. ive seen the newer blue one of the C&C cleansers and have heard good things but im scared to change it up because what if it doesnt work for me? i think ill stick with my orange one till i run out which wont be for a while then maybe ill try something new but usually i just stick with what works!
