My old salon wouldn't do it for me. So I never did it.. my eyebrows are a little darker than my hair, nothing to scream over.

I have the exact same problem. I just died my hair blonde and I have dark brown eyebrows. I think I'll try the peroxyde thing. It seems like the easiest.

Well, I tried the peroxide thing and it probably would have worked had I been patient with it and continually used it over a few days. But instead I finally got a hold of that facial dye stuff and (being the eager beaver that I am) I immediately slathered it all over my eyebrows. Perfection! :P I got the exact shade I wanted (although it took a few nervous trys, I was haunted by visions of white eyebrows). Now I don't look so odd and everyone says that my face looks much better with lighter brows. Yay! Thanks for the awesome suggestions guys!

I recommend usually not to get over the counter hair dye..if you get over the counter- use dye for eyebrows because hair dye is usually too harsh to be that near to your eyes....

My friend just dyed her eyebrows this week and it looks great...she had it done by our friends mother and we used a eyebrow dye we got from a beauty supply shop...(I think my friend found hers at Sallys Beauty Supply...I dont know if you have one where you are at though).

As for salon...that is also really good...my boyfriends aunt has her dyed a few shades darker because her eyebrows are so light that it looks like she doesnt have brows..even when you are sitting across from her..

You should go to a proper salon to get your eyebrows professionally dyed.
I dont think you will get noticeable regrowth on your eyebrows..and it could take months before your natural colour comes back in your eyebrow (if at all!)

I've always wanted thick black eyesbrows I could style how ever I choose but am stuck with blonde invisible eyebrows that I have to Mac powder in (hate pencils) and so I gather it's whatever works for you but if you have nice dark eyebrows, think of those less fortunate like myself and maybe you'll feel better

Many salons if they do, dye brows and lashes will make you sign a waiver. I know at the salon I worked at I did that with every client that wanted this procedure done...in case of blindness...hair color was meant for the hair on your head not your brows or lashes.

I have platnium blonde hair am asian and have very dark eyebrows and it looks fine. I would be very very careful if you are going to do it yourself at home. If you do the hydorogen peroxide route....your brows may be an orangy color.

Dark brows are not that bad....as long as they are well maintained and groomed.

I've had it done at many different salons and it always comes out too dark for my complexion and hair color, I recommend you buy dye at a beauty supply shop and do it yourself. They have special dye for eyebrows and lashes. I've used it on and off for many years and it's not dangerous at all if you follow the instructions. Also going too a salon for this seems like a waste of time and money once you've done it yourself a couple times. Its really easy !!!

It doesn't grow out strangely, but the color just fades in a few weeks.

i seriously advise that you don't do it. my friend bleached her eyebrows and it ended up looking terrible.

Dont dye your eyebrows at home!!!!!!!!!
If you use a normal dye, youll end up blind with no eyebrows! The paint is too strong for the brows, so go to the salon!!! Best wishes!

btw, my sister dyes her eyebrows constantly in the salon, so there is no problem with it!!!

I dye my (black) eyebrows at home every six weeks or so. I never got any dye in my eyes and I never got orange brows.
I have the dye on for about 2 minutes and voilá: lighter brows with a golden shimmer.

Lightening / Coloring Eyebrows

Does anyone color their eyebrows? I am thinking about changing my hair from a natural dark blonde to a lighter blonde, but my eyebrows are fairly dark so they won't match. Can you just have your hair colorist do your eyebrows at the same time as your hair? And, how often do you need touch-ups on them?
