Back to the other topic though, does anyone know exactly why the items are increasingly being made in places other than Belgium? And does it make much of a difference in quality or anything else?
I may be totally wrong here but isn't Ann's business mainly based in Antwerp?
Well, it's a whole huge discussion of its own, which I believe we had elsewhere on these forums. Basically the idea is to save on costs, and hopefuly pass those savings to the customer, without compromising quality. I think the basic idea is, you still buy the premium fabric in Europe and send it to China (for example) along with the sample cuts (forgot the technical term in English), they produce the parts of the garment and send it back to Europe, and that's where the pieces get assembled/finished (which still allows you to put a Made in Belgium, etc. tag). Does it compromise quality? Probably not in any significant degree (if any). Does it pass costs to customers? The jury is out on that one. I belive it does in som instances - Dries was the first one to openly move production from Belgium to other countries, and his prices are of the most palatable ones. Some of Ann's shirts with fairly complicated design made in Poland cost $220, which at this day and age is considered a bargain. In other instances it probably doesn't.

For those (in the US) interested in Ann's key necklaces/pendants, Atelier still has a couple - saw them just now.

Ah I see, that does make sense. Thanks faust. Then perhaps the 'Made in' issue is more of a psychological thing if that's the process.. though that's really off topic. It's quite interesting though, I'm going to try look for that thread.

I wonder if anyone's going to pick up that interesting looking beige womens Ann D wrap around leather jacket going on eBay

Also, does anyone know any other online stores that carry Ann D clothing other than aloharag, yoox, luisaviaroma, brownsfashion?

$35 for real, oh I should mention I added $11 in insurance since they are coming from Sydney. check out this auction 7764037760. He probably made a mistake, I can't imagine not, but he has 100% positive feedback so I hope for the best. I have faith and good AD karma. I'm also going to Seattle next week and plan on stopping in to Betty Blue, I called and she said she had plently of very nice AD pieces in stock and also some Dries.

^I was at Betty Blue when I went to Seattle a few weeks ago

You'll like it, for men they didn't have that great of a selection, they had tons of Valentino and some good stuff here and there...but for women they have Ann D. and others that I like, they just got a shipment, and the service is really excellent. They also know what they're talking about. I also suggest you head on to Butch Blum. Excellent service, educated staff. They carry Ann D menswear (dont remember about womenswear), Comme Des Garcons, etc. Ask for Tim, he helped me, he's great. Tell him Arturo says hi

I am sorry but you have made a mistake. That was my auction. I've sent you an email about it..

It was actually for a private sale for eBay user 123mickeym, which was stated in the auction title, listing, and auction description, more than once, bold and in red...
