Any other websites for re-selling besides ebay?
MODS- I hope this topic is ok?, pls delete it if it violates anything.

I'm wondering besides ebay, where can I sell some of my things? ebay is becoming ridiculous when it comes to restrictions and fee's for sellers, so I want to try something else...

let me know your thoughts!

Ugh, I know what you mean. Ebay seller fees are getting crazy. I know there's Etsy, iOffer, and Yahoo Auctions, but they don't reach nearly as many buyers/bidders as ebay, so I guess you have to be very selective of what you sell and where.

Edit: There's also Chictopia now, but you need a certain amount of "chic points" to be able to use the selling option.

I am trying to use Bonanzle but haven't gotten a lot of interest over there on high end designer items yet. Lots of Purse Forum folks are posting their items there. I've been trying to indirectly hint to my ebay buyers who want a lower price to come find me on Bonanzle instead (thought you can't flat out advertise the other site or ask for an off ebay sale). I hope Bonanzle takes off. It is very easy to list items. It is also nice to be able to use other payment options beyond only what eBay prefers. There were about 15000 members about 2 months ago and now they are at over 35000. It is growing. Seems to attract more sellers for lower end items though since ebay is useless for low end things now. Come check us out on Bonanzle!

Ugh, I am never selling on ebay again. The last time I sold on ebay was when you could still leave buyers negs. Never had a single problem. Now, within two weeks of my auctions ending I've had about four buyers file paypal claims (no email to me before -one even filed an Item Not Received because it hadn't arrived in germany within 3 days!) trying to get their money back.

One claims an item is 'less beautiful than she thought it would be' (it's a topshop dress!) then when I pointed out that's not my problem said there was a rip in it and filed a paypal claim and escalated it to a dispute straight away. Yeah, right. Another says that it doesn't feel as good quality as it should do and has an iron mark on it. Well, I wasn't the one who ironed it, so quite clearly SHE did and is now trying to send it back. I can't do ANYTHING.

I have been on eBay as a buyer and a seller for 12 years now, and it has never been worse. The hiding of IDs encourages bid shilling, and I can tell you it is rampant because I used to report it before they hid IDs. The No Negative feedback for buyers is a COMPLETE JOKE because it makes it useless to see the feedback.

I am also shocked and amazed at how many people who buy my items have deaths in the family or sick mothers. I am starting to feel like the grim reaper.

Hi, I'm extremely sorry not to have been in touch prior to today, but my family has been going through the most awful time over the past several weeks since being told that my mother in law had throat cancer and only had a couple of weeks to live. Then last Monday I was told that my mother had also passed away. I can only apologise for everything and I promise you that I will be forwarding you the payment for this asap in the coming week.

So that has been two plus weeks now. I filed the non-paying bidder 3 days ago. Pity and a pain, because what it means is while I am waiting for this to get resolved, I have an $800 Gucci leather corset that sits in limbo instead of being available to sell. Even though I have sent about 4 nice emails asking how she is doing, not wanting to pressure her, but wanting to check up and see when this could be closed out, no response.

I also think waiting 15 days before being able to get a FVF is ridiculous. Liked the old system better where you could file a NPB at three days and submit a claim after 10.

I am still waiting for Bonanzle to take off. It is building momentum, but again, the throughput is not there. That being said, I have never seen sellers more frustrated, nor more issues on eBay than any point in time.

The grim reaper. I hate this about the internet -the fact that people feel it's so impersonal they will lie shamelessly and don't feel bad.

It has put me off completely -as far as I can see you have no defence at all against fraudulent buyers and no way of knowing who has been comfortably scamming sellers using Paypal claims, because you can't tell from their feedback.

From now on I'm taking everything to a consignment store or one of those 'we sell your stuff on ebay' places. Too much hassle otherwise and no way of telling how much money you'll end up having frozen by Paypal.

Well I said grim reaper because that was my third "dead or dying mother" in two weeks...

Think I hate is that this person can pay me 13 days later and still be there with 100% positive feedback.

Now given that eBay SHOVES PayPal down my throat, and they won't let me leave negative feedback, the simplest thing eBay could do...

Can you guess?

Really...

This is SO SIMPLE...

Would mean so much...

For buyers... TIME TO PAY!!!

Ebay should let me look at a buyer and just like feedback, I should see their average time to pay for last month, 6 months, and year.

I have still been fairly successful, but a lot more people like you, Uberwench. One of my good customers from New York sends me her leather and I sell it for her and just take a straight 25% and I eat all the eBay fees.

In the WebWatch section of the Weekend Mail, it mentioned www.preloved.co.uk

It says 'From wedding dresses to Nintendo Wii's, there's something for everyone on this site that encourages visitors to experience the joy of second hand. There are two levels of membership: you can advertise for free or, for just £5 a year, you can get access to all the very latest adverts so you get the best bargains'

Would be interested to hear of anyone's experience of this site as hearing so many bad things about ebay lately

I really wish we had a forum on tFS for trading/reselling with other members (with a specific criteria, such as a certain amount of quality posts here) to avoid ebay fees and headaches. I know it'd be hard to manage but I'd be up for helping to run it, if it ever became a possibility here.

a few of the other forums I frequent have forums like this and I have gotten a ton of great stuff through them... the problem is they're male dominated forums. and the "other" sites besides ebay, as mentioned, don't get the same amount of traffic so for girls wanting to resell, we're kind of between a rock and a hard place.
